Have I missed the memo where we have to use this set ? I've seen at least 3 Sorcs using this in the last 20 mins

Looks like I'm going to have to transmute my set and start playing around with it

EG ? All those short terms are really confusing. You could at least use the full term in your post.

MagSorcs have always used it in PvP. I've been seeing different classes use it on PS4 NA for Cyrodiil.

I've been running it on my stamplar to good effect. I could see it being useful on Sorc but the randomness of the proc type often leads to a wasted proc and I would imagine that is more pronounced on a sorc. Nothing like needing Mag but getting health instead while you have full shields and full health.

It used to be the go to, I think Deltia had a sorc build years back with it and loads ran it.

It went quiet but I think a streamer or two must have mentioned it as I've seen the increase also!

Strange seems like a DPS decrease for nothing particularly special, even though it looks like a decent set if you struggle with your Attribute regen, I would still rather use a set like like Ilambris or Valkyn that would offer me raw and easy DPS.

It's always been around, and sorcs have usually been particularly efficient user of it (thanks to Dark Deal ensuring a stamina proc is always relevant, and a lack of a solid on-demand heal making the health proc okay, too).

It does seem to be enjoying a newfound burst of popularity.

I use it in PVP on my sorc, but mainly for the sheer annoyance factor. If you’ve tried targeting someone with a single target ability with the droid constantly moving back and forth in front of them you know what I mean.

Apart from the sustain the automaton providing LoS - especially when the lag starts and the targeting system decides to go AWOL - is the main thing.

That is the part that I don't like about it. The randomness of which resource return you will get.

It is currently one of the best open world sets available to a magicka sorc...from a sustain standpoint and a defense standpoint.

Also since dark conversion is a staple to sustain, EG becomes more valuable.

    It provides 100% mitigation from
    Soul assault
    Meteor
    Incap
    Dragon Leap
    Surprise Attack
And Almost all other single target attacks

It can be bashed to stop the resource return but it still provides immunity from damage for an additional 4-6 seconds. Can provide 2-3 sets of 100% mitigation at a time

I've seen EG proc on my Dark Conversion quite a bit. That is pretty awesome when it happens.

All that, and when MagSorc presses his Ward button, provides another layer of defense to himself and the sphere while it is active. The set becomes a type of pseudo pet to the Sorc in a way.

If its a magicka proc great.

If its a stam, then you can afford a roll or go spam dark deal.

If its hp then it's not great but its procs hp when you survive a burst and are stacking shields then heals you to full.

It provides line of sight and makes it hard to target you, my EG has eaten so many ults.

So you really meant Engine Guardian. I was confused, as this has always been used by Sorcerers.
I personally don't like to use it. Because I always expect my enemies to think the same way as I think. And I know that stunning the Guardian once it starts beaming, will disable it for its entire duration. And I always just streak through it and then they have a wasted set.

It was actually my first gold monster set 4 years ago.

I just recently started using it again, but not because of some streamer or build I watched. I tend to make my own for PvP, less chance to get nerfed that way.

Was having problems with stamina regen, not being able to block, roll, break free as often as I needed to in this new crazy stam CC meta BGs.

The added magicka regen allowed me to go 2 full damage 5 pc sets.

Plus the thing will take damage for you if you utilize him properly. Sure it can be interrupted, but even a second or two of that beam can be a life saver at times.

Engine guardian has been a good fit for sorc for a very long time because no matter what pops, you get the resource ypu need. Take a stamsorc for example. Need stamina put get health popped? Got time to heavy attack now because you're getting healed passively. Magic popped? Now I can dark deal a few times at almost no net cost. Stamina popped? Good.

Its probably one of the best sustain sets for any sorc in general really.
