With 2/3 of the player base you would think our opinion would be valued. But patch after patch more things are broken and then placed on the back-burner.
So how do you, as a console player, feel about the current state of the game? Do you feel valued, appreciated, or generally ignored when it comes to issues on console?
Well, let's see. Elder Scrolls Online is, to my knowledge, the first MMORPG to come out on consoles. It remains, in my opinion, the only MMORPG worth playing on consoles as well. The developers didn't have to attempt to release this game on console at all. They were pioneers in bringing this type of game to my fingertips. On top of that, they've continued to support the game on console and incrementally bring quality of life improvements to the game.
My gripes are few and far between.
I feel less and less valued as a console customer as time goes on. I know resources are limited, but it’s hard to justify so many of the quality of life issues that are fixed by add-ons on PC but console users are stuck with baffling UI decisions and a general lack of functionality (searching guild trader, mini-map, inability to switch between pve and pvp builds without spending tons of time, lack of customizable buff/dot trackers, etc. the list goes on and on).
Now, with the update completely breaking HDR on consoles right after I upgraded to an Xbox one x and 4K tv for the sole reason of playing in 4K and literally 0 communication since the initial “we are looking into it” 7 days ago, I’m thinking about taking my hard earned money elsewhere for gaming. I initially left Destiny 2 for ESO because I (and most people in general) didn’t like the path the game was taking and the response from Bungie was subpar. Bungie got into gear, went to work, and created a game people are starting to love again. The communication with their fan-base became exemplary and they really have turned it around. ESO, at its core, is an extremely fun game and isn’t remotely flawed like Destiny 2 was initially. Over time however many of these glaringly poor UI/functionality issues, bugs, HDR breaking, etc. weigh on me significantly. A simple stream of communication would help assuage this weight significantly.
I don’t need everything fixed right away, I still love this game and understand resources are limited (although you wouldn’t know it looking at how frequently the crown store is updated and the attention it gets). What I do want is to know these concerns are actively being looked into and the company is working toward a change. Even knowing they don’t think something is an issue and will never fix it would be much better than the deafening silence we currently get. People are reasonable in the face of information (even if it’s to tell them their needs will not be met), but no one responds well to being ignored. ZoS should learn a thing or two (or twelve) from Bungie if they want this game to continue to be as popular as it has been.

Final Fantasy XI (ps2) and Everquest Online Adventures (ps2), both MMORPGs on console and both had a pretty long run.

And yet FFXI was limited so much until they dropped PS2. Even though we all know it was just due to spaghetti code.....
All console players pay $5 per month just to get to the login screen.
PlayStation plus and Xbox gold both cost $60 per year just to get to the base game with the base guild trader interface and no access to combat metrics or dressing room or minimaps or sky shard arrows etc.

I personally don't need those bells and whistles. ^^;; the skyshards are not hard to find all all tbh.

Not particularly, I feel they cater more to the PC players more as they are more outspoken here & the majority of big name streamers play on PC. I know there might be an issues with licensing but making some of the mods and add ons that are available on PC such as Constellations & Combat Metrics would really help the console players that they are as equally appreciated as PC players. Also an upgrade to servers across the board would be lovely as it's particularly bad on Xbox EU at the moment.
