Ah I remember the good old days. 2 years ago right before One Tamriel when the bow was underpowered trash, the forums back then were an ocean of tears. “I want to be Legolas and I can’t because bow sucks”

I remember one year ago when they made the bow auto-fire instead of hold and release. Another Great Lake of tears. “You are taking all the strategy out of bow play because now I can’t decide when is the best time to fire” and at this point that was the ONLY advantage to bow. Running stam dps was a joke it was all Sorcs with their slave Templar and DK. No one else allowed.

Now we have “too many bows!”

Because it's the only range option you're gonna get on stamina characters, so unless you wanna stand there and die from meta ranged sorcs and mag blades then get one lol. Helps to dot up players with poison inject before gap close

Bow. Oh yes! Love the animation, sound and the hope I do not need to get up close and personal with a foe.

Path has held a bow since Beta. She tried other weapons only to go back to all bow. I am not tough, elite or skilled. My champion points are all over the place. I don't care. For the most part I survive but more than that, I experience this amazing world as I want.

For me I just like archery in general, my mother was a championship archer as was my grandfather so always had the bow love lmao. It fits my main style wise too. However I don’t use it on my sorc or healer only characters it actually fits if that makes sense.

Nothing matches the range and it’s got massive health desync issues that cause chaos in PvP. Bow Ult is stam version of Soul Strike, better because you can move during the 7k/s damage ticks

Also pure bow builds tend to think they’re safe at range.

Fun fact: They aren’t.

Nothing has ever made me this hateful toward bows than this game. Bowtards are everywhere, in their RP builds, trying to be Legolas/Tauriel and whoever that YouTube's self-proclaimed reviver of 'super lost secret art of archery' doing all the impractical stunts was.

Played a bow-huntress with a pet panther, 2 nukes and some dots in Shadowbane for years and loved it. Most mmos offer archetypal classes like ranger and scout that are usually essential for tracking players and seeing/revealing stealthed players.

I’d like to have a nice bow character but I don’t think ESO has a well-fitting class for it like in most other mmos. Maybe the devs will make a more complementary 6th class that would be a natural fit for powerful bow user.

First off I don't really PvP a lot so my main game is PvE.

My best friend loves the "in your face" style of play while I enjoy the stealthy dagger/bow combo in almost every game we play.

Normally this makes for a pretty decent team up.

However, while ESO originally designed the game for all weapons to be equal in use as main weapons it just didn't stack up in comparison to other weapon types and very quickly fell to the wayside (or it got nerfed into falling by the wayside). For quite some time now it has been primarily used as a back bar weapon for buffing and being able to put some light damage on mobs to keep our DPS from falling while trying to avoid the point-blank AOEs the bosses would throw out.

It wasn't until Wardens recently came out that I have really started to see it making a comeback.

Anyway aside from those who get their panties in a bind over snipe being used so much in PvP, it really is just one more playstyle and that's all it is.

I love “Ranger” type playstyles. I would love to be able to run with a bow as a main weapon in ESO! Alas I have moved on to a Mage.

idk about gun but Id gladly use stamwhip, if zos give us one.

Seriously tho, that's the reason my main PvP character works as arrow girl in cyrodil. So I can shoot arrows at zergs from the keep walls. Also, because I suck at the PvPness, and playing as "archer" who gets plowed under real quick if someone gets them in melee combat just makes the many, many losses feel more immersive for me...

I play a bow/bow sorc, nightblade and warden. PvE only (except just enough Cyrodiil to get vigor & caltrops).

The biggest challenge to bow/bow is stam sustain. The most common mistake as a bow/bow is running all around and failing to keep foes within your dual killing zone (Volley + Caltrops). In both cases, each of the above three classes has ways to try and deal. Failure to manage these two challenges result in the common and often derided running bow plinker who does poor damage and simply drags foes out of the AoEs of others.

Yeah, but you do not have to aim anyway anymore - just hold it in about the direction and it will hit - total nonsense.
