Does anyone actually use the camel mount?

I never see anyone using it, yet it is in the crates every time.
Why did the Dunmer cross the road?
Apparently to get stuck in an eternal load screen!

I have one girl who uses it. I find the.... action of the camel itself fairly normal for the animal. But the way the toon sits it is just.... awful.

Then again, so is riding a bear. The cats are somewhat better, and horses are pretty true to life. I don't have a wolf yet so don't know about them. I have zero interest in guars so no clue how they are. Not ever going to want a bug mount of any sort or dwemer ones.

But as a long time horsewoman, I do have to give them credit for the riding anis on the horses. But they certainly should have used a slimmer body/legs for them.... There's a reason I use a mod for horses in Skyrim....

I love the camel, but as others have said, it makes me motion sick.
The bear is nice as well and I can use it without getting sick.

I'm convinced it moves slower than the other mounts, so I don't use it.

Me too. I got one from a crate and was so excited until I used it. Rode half way across town and haven't used it since

I sometimes break out one of my camels. It's rare, but I'm not unhappy with the purchases, they just don't fit most of the aesthetics I go for. Wolves, cats, and the occasional bear and guar are much more common for me.

because of the way the camera is tied to your "character" and not a "general view of the mount / character" together I know a lot of people don't ride mounts like the bear or the camel because of the terrible motion that throws the screen around (bear gets quite a bit of side to side as well)

for instance the wolves even though being similar to the senche in overall size and shape they tend to throw their back a bit more causing a much harsher ride then you might expect, very similar to horse and elk (who actually share animations) then to something like the senche

then you have the "spider" type mounts that are the smoothest ride in the game because of that fact that your character does not move and the dwemer spider sits VERY low and is actually quite small.

senche and guar / kogouti are next on the list for having very smooth rides and were the smoothest until the introduction of the spiders.

also if you pvp at all the combination of being on a more visable mount (camels and bears are HUGE compared to some others) and having your screen throwing you all over the place can actually matter.

    ESO player since beta.
previously full time subscriber, beta-2024, game got too disappointing.

I adore my camels and I do ride them. They do not have the side to side motion that makes me nauseous with the bear, where your toon gets thrown all over the place seemingly at random. They feel almost floaty, to me. They also make the most adorable cranky sounds when you make them jump or sprint. <3

I do, it's horrible but funny on my fat orc.

At least it looks like a camel and. Is part realistic, unlike all the crawling crap with multiple legs. Awful.

I bought the back camel with gems. No regrets. While the camera movement annoys me a bit, it's not enough to not use it is desert areas where I like to ride those instead of horses. Also a camel is a real life mount unlike most in game mounts. Which to me adds to the appeal.
