I advise everyone to listen/read (not rush!) Ebon Sanctuary quest in Summerset. This quest is almost about the same as this topic.

1) Don't try to be a tank that uses 2H and DW.
2) Train your horse!
3) If your main weapon is Desto staff it is not smart to make your back bar Bow so you can use resources from another pool.

None of the above. I don't feel I did anything wrong when starting off. The almost doing things wrong happened when I stopped being a solo quester and began doing more group content. I encountered the competitive crowd, the folks who use cookie cutter builds, and then expect everyone else to do the same for... reasons. I tried listening to them for a while, and it made for a miserable gaming experience. I would tell myself to ignore them from the start and keep doing what I was doing before.

As a veteran of all of a couple of months...

• Do the writs.
• Make sure your crafting skills are the same level as you: gathering mats is a pain otherwise.
• Dolmens are fun. As long as you do them in Auridon or Alik'r.
• Loot is instanced so quit panicking.
• Treasure and survey maps are too so don't burn them.
• Turn off the zone chat.
• Don't choose your main for your first character and make her a DK.
• Feed your horse.
• Lockpicking is easy: it's just lag that makes it look like it's not.

And that's just scratching the surface.

Message to myself one week ago: don’t spend hours farming tel var for Thews of the Harbinger for your stupid theorycrafted DK PVP build. Spend those tel var on Hakeijos instead, because you will decon the set when you realize you took a gamble on it and screwed up.

This poll really needs an “other” option. I wish I would have given ESO more of a chance when the game first launched. I tried for an hour, put it down, and only got into it late last year after my Destiny 2 guild fell apart... I also should have started playing my CP characters right away rather than leveling a toon of each class to 50.

Don't plan on a stamblade as main crafter with 999+ (that is, satellite) lag. Because you have SO much trouble getting the levels you need to keep up with improving crafting levels.... and NB doesn't mesh very well with redlag....

I've started doing crafting on my warden to replace the stamblade eventually. Pet classes are much better for people like me with lag no one else on earth deals with - because pets are run server-side.... so not nearly as much lag....

Dont get that Taco Bell that you got at 3:00 AM the other night.

In all honesty, I would have to say roll more classes earlier so you can play every class. The best way to learn about the game is to play every class and I have one of each of the classes.
