Why is ZOS getting rid of the lootable wardrobes in Traitor's Vault??

fleursnuit
I fail to see what is so bad about being able to loot them. You've already nerfed the drop rate, and if someone wants to take the time to loot it, let them! Hell, it's the only way I have been able to get the few Alinor patterns I've gotten without having to spend a ridiculous amount. Can someone please explain the reasoning behind this?

They buffed the lockpicks drops and tbh this is ruining the lockpicks market.
Please ZOS nerf the lockpicks again, I am begging you!

ZOS has a long history of nerfing drop rates on Motifs, furniture patterns, and other rare items if they can be purchased on the Crown Store itself. This is nothing new.

what bug? in my expereince at least I coudln't just travel out, trvel back in and have all the wardrobes respawn. either all would be open, or depending on if i took longer then 5 minutes on travel, a handful would respawn, which was 100% consistent with how every other delve in a game behaves when it comes to containers. its why people still did the alt rotation when farming these.

If this is true, it's ***. I've been a loyal player since I began playing 2 years ago (I know, not as long as many), and I enjoy looting, it's a relaxing way to end the night. To sit there and arbitrarily decide to take away some of the fun of the game from players is just plain wrong. Focus on the real issues, as stated above, and leave us to our looting, it doesn't affect anything other than I suppose your bottom line (which I guess is the real issue at hand for you). I wasn't even aware there was a respawn issue and have been just doing rounds, logging on and off of my alts. That being said, looks like I won't be buying the furniture pack. I'm disappointed.
Oh, yeah, please remember that when it comes to your bottom line, players actually enjoying the game IS your bottom line. Take away our enjoyment, and we leave. A good portion of us come on for the social aspect, and playing the game WITH them is what typically brings us back. They leave, we leave. Please don't mess this game up anymore.

wow unreal.. When is it happening? This is the problem with this game development team. They do stupid *** like this but leave the game broken and dont comment on it... Just un real.. I know i will never buy another game made by zos, thats for sure..

And ya 100% what you said. If someone wants to take the time to loot them, then who the *** cares? are they gonna nerf all the delves or old orsinium with the urns too? Wtf @zos

At least now they will. >:)

Btw I've got a question regarding this issue:

We are expected to report any bugs and exploits? Why should we?

The only reward we would face is getting another nerf instead of a maybe maybe not ban? How would we tell apart an exploit from the average broken crap you don't care about? We would not want to waste your time and force you to auto answer even more useless complaints from abundant cashcows.

This is very, very disappointing. They already nerfed the drop rate to where I only get non Alinor patterns, and mostly blues or greens and sometimes nothing on a run through. This is leaving a very bitter taste in my mouth towards the devs.

Terrible decision to sell a bit more furniture in the crown store. Good luck getting my money for it.

Zos gave their reasoning in the first patch notes of the PTS, which I expect will be included in the patch notes for what goes live.

    icymi
Fixed an issue where the Traitor's Vault had an excessive number of lootable wardrobes.

So, essentially more were lootable than intended.

There is no shortage of containers, clustered or otherwise, in this Chapter. But compared to everything else, that one section of the Vault is extra-chunky ugly lazy asset placement. And it became an easy, obvious target because of that laziness. So the Vault had loot traffic disproportionate to the people actively playing quest content within.

Not quite Alik'r Desert dolmen mob disruptive, but still disruptive to the point of detracting from the actual content.

I don't feel ZOS needs to drag the team member responsible for it or turn it into some sort of teachable moment. It's really like any other publishing - intellectual property holders do not need to justify revisions. Even unpopular ones.

you are giving them WAY too much credit.

this room was absolutely NO different from Hleran or dreloth tombs in Vvardenfel when it comes to both number of lootable containers and traffic they got contantly exclusively with a purpose of looting them for possible furniture patterns.

the ONLY difference is that back then, the drop rates are abysmal. since ZoS made droprates less abysmal after large continuous community outcry, they coudln't nerf the drop rates themselves again, not without much larger backlash. so instead they nerfed the number of wardrobes you can loot. probably becasue crown furnishings weren't selling as much as they had hoped.

I mean... honestly.. the whole design of that room practically screams "farm me." that was NOT accidental. they just miscalculated just how effective some VERY motivated furniture collectors could be and resulting effect on their bottom line

It was datamined and on the pts. Alinor furnishing packs ARE coming to the crown store and that IS why the nerf is happening. No more “wow really, is this true?” It’s on the pts. It’s what is happening.

This is an extremely disappointing move from them. I was already sad because of this nerf, because I had thought that, for once, they were nice to us and it turned out it was just ephemeral... but now that I know their true motivation, I feel I am getting really tired of all this.

I love the Elder Scrolls universe, but with each update, it is becoming harder and harder to ignore how predatory their monetization practices are getting (I started being annoyed by them around Homestead, and it has only gotten worse), and it now reached a point where I can't ignore it is tarnishing my enjoyment of the game. The price of the Aldmeri Grotto being just 500 Crown short of the price of every DLC in existence was just the latest occurence, and now this... :/

    Obvious money grab is obvious.

The first signs of this turned up as early as November 2015 with the release of Orsinium and the Glass motif. Splitting it into chapters (and splitting the material too) to create artificial scarcity while releasing the full book in the Crown store?

ZOS announced to us all, loud and clear, what the ongoing trend would be. They have been testing how far they can push it ever since.

This is just yet another case where ZOS is prioritising profit over player enjoyment... and before we get the whole "they have to keep the lights on" rush... yes, they do have to keep the lights on. But nerfing something that people were enjoying specifically because you intend to monetise it is not the way to keep the lights on. There are other ways and means. Try actually having some principles please, ZOS.

I will hit it on each alt _Once_ a day, as I do my writs.

People who spend hours and hours just to farm plans are IMHO the bigger issue.

NOT saying YOU do that - but people will go and spend hours in there just relogging over and over.

I think if people didn't do that, these kind of things wouldn't get nerfed so much.

IDK though, I am probably wrong. I don't understand most of the things they do.
