Morrowind DLC code changed base game

Today I bought Morrowind DLC and I was eager about playing the game. It happens that the code I entered changed the base game from Gold Edition to Standard Edition.
Does anyone know what happened and how to recover my previous status? I don't want to lose my previous base game.

    Do you still "own" the extra DLC that were in the original set? Check if they are available for purchase, or not, on the in-game store, or check your collections. I suspect this to be a cosmetic-only change, and that you have lost nothing.
