PVP! Honour your alliance! Alliance locked, open world PVP; all game is fair game!
The term Megaserver refers to the type of server implementation used in The Elder Scrolls Online.

This differs from most current massively multiplayer games, which typically use separate servers referred to as "shards," in that every player is connected to the same logical server. This means that there is no need to switch to a different server in order to avoid lag or connect with friends. However, it isn't possible for every single player to co-exist within the same game space. Because of this, the megaserver utilizes phasing in order to group players with friends and like-minded gamers.

Technically the megaserver is not one single physical server, but rather a network of servers combined into a single logical unit.

    Not sure if its possible...

Should be easy then, ppl check a box at login or char creation and they get loaded into the appropriate phase and ruleset with other like minded players.

Wish I could find a Graph on What causes LAG, and what adding new content does to a "CHOKE POINT"
If there was an Algorithm that showed people what instituting a new "Idea" to a game would show "Cost/LAG/CONFLICT The pros and Cons. I bet more people could help design ways to use systems like this.
A good example The Add-On that lets you see what creating a Set is gonna look like after different pieces added or upgraded.
Course it would be a Paper Build, and no good till you actually tested it.
