In no game, ever, should a player be able to stand right next to another player and do melee damage while remaining invisible. This is *** ridiculous. We shouldn't have to fight invisible players. Stealth is for being stealthy, not for doing melee damage while standing right next to another player and remaining invisible.

If they attack you, that breaks their stealth. Unless they stealth again. Detection pots is a thing if you struggle.

You come out of stealth when you attack.
It's just that you aren't prepared for the burst.

That sounds more like a pot (though not 100% on that, I don't use invis pots), less like cloak, unless they are hitting it between every interaction. because any damage you do gets you pulled out of it. Which is a pretty impressive feat for sustaining a mag pool, while either attacking you with it or if they are stam have a lot less of.

As initially noted by Beruge, their invisibility breaks the second they attack you and detect pots can be very effective against players who are overly focused on remaining cloaked.

Every player has access to invisibility via invisibility pots. My personal preference is the one that also increases your movement speed.

More drastic counters to invisibility are skills like mage light, expert hunter, and revealing flare, which some might not be willing to slot. Of course, you could also make use of regular AoE abilities. If you know the approximate location of the invisible player you could drop an AoE ability in that direction and if the player is slow/inexperienced you can keep them from cloaking with this tactic.

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

Buff up. I run Magdk. I stay buffed. Heal through their attack. Hit with Structured Entropy which lets me know where that pesky NB cloaked off to. Volatile armor to break their cloak. Then it’s off to the races.

If they are on a wall. I block cast/ spam Structured Entropy and wait for Skoria to proc lol. A pal told me you shouldn’t spam structured cause it’s a dot. But it costs me so little to cast and the first tick DOES some damage and often procs Skoria who cares. 41m range lol. 900 magicka cost. It’s free ranged damage lol.

Stealth reliant nightblades can be countered by creating a paradox. Mark hard counters nightblades whom rely on stealth. The counter to mark for stamblades is normally killing the one who marked them. This where the fun begins. You make a tankblade that they can not kill 1v1 due to their build. Followed by using mark with ranged dots and anti-stealth poisons to keep them out of stealth. Then enjoy the moment when they get mobbed down. You can also pull them into groups of other players so they get mobbed down. You have counter troll builds with an even greater troll build; this kills the stealth reliant nightblade.

Best advice is if you struggle with nbs is to play one and see just how easily every class will break you out of cloak and how quickly you will die.

Sounds like YET another L2P post right here. Since when you attack anyone from stealth or cloak, even using an invisibly pot it pulls you right out of stealth once the first attack hits you. There are MANY counters to NBs who use cloak. Any and I mean ANY AOE abilities, inner light, detect pots <---real good here probably the best shut down to any and I mean ANY nb who's running cloak.

I think we all probably struggle with different classes based on our own playstyles and builds...

nightblades usually just bounce off of most of my characters...every once in a while one will burst me down, or, get me with cost poisons...

more often than not though, if they stay engaged, they'll die...

now, 2 handed wielding drangonknights are a whole other story...

When a nightblade attacks you from stealth, takes you down to 15% health and uses resource draining potions, peoples first instint is to use a potion to get their health back. Detect potions sounds nice and can work in group settings but we lose the opportunity to use our fighting potions.

Every other form of detection is like finding a needle in a haystack. On my magplar i kept trying to revive a fallen comrade and people were throwing out revealing flairs to try and find me. Its was an exercise in futility.

I experienced this over the past weekend. Was playing a match in Battlegrounds, one of the last days of Mayhem. Hadn't experienced lag until this point. The match was weird from the get go. There was lag, attacks not registering, my toon getting stuck in an attack animation, but never attacking, etc.

What I noticed is that enemy players, some were nightblades, i'm sure, were remaining completely invisible when attacking me. I play a nightblade in PvP and I understand coming out of cloak when doing any kind of damage. I am not very knowledgeable on invisibility pots (haven't used them before)

Out of nowhere, I would be running, no enemies around me. I would hear the slashing sounds of swords and could tell I was being attacked, as I would slow down, my health would deplete, then next thing you know, I'm dead. Once I was dead, the player(s) would appear and run to the next target/objective.

There were also matches where 4 players on an enemy team were taking a point, but we could not see anyone. All of the sudden, for a couple seconds, the enemies appear, all standing at the point, then a second later, the disappear, then reappear, and so on. Like they were flashing in and out and would appear at random places going forward, rather than running.

I'm sure this is all due to lag, but man did it make for a very, VERY frustrating match when you can't see the people you're up against.

Anyone else experience anything like this?

This is it. They cannot do melee dps while remaining invisible and there are counters to their stealth that are particularly effective when they are in melee range.

This game has more than enough Cloak counters:
      True vision pots
      Magelight (Mages guild)
      Expert Hunter (Fighter guild)
      Revealing Flare (Support AvA)
Countless amount of nontarget ground or caster based AOEs
      • PC EU. Ebonheart Pact. CP 1k+
      • YouTube: All ESO disguises (2014)
      • EU players are humans too! We want our maintenances in the least pop time (at deep night) and not lasted for several hours!
      • Animation canceR - is true PvP cancer! When you can't see which actions your opponent do - you can't react properly on them!

It's not the melee players who *** me off because I can magelight and counter their failed attack but its the one button pressing Poison Injection bow players who have Sloads, Valkyn, Viper and double dot poisons. It's even worse when it's a group of them. They are the garbage of Cyrodiil. Once they are off that wall though, because they are in all divines, they take two hits and they are practically dead. But standing up on that wall, spamming one attack, truly dishonorable and garbage player in PVP. Zero respect.

You are wrong, try to play one and you will see its not that easy as you say, and only poison injection is not enough to kill other players or you must be a terrible player.
