Problem reinstalling

Hi, wondering if anyone could offer a suggestion here, please. I am trying to reinstall ESO on an SSD I had it on a week ago. I have wiped everything from the SSD and have 110GB (it isn't the largest but has been fine for ESO for the last few years). Anyway, it gets to about 60%, give or take, and then fails as it has run out of drive space :o Checking MYPC shows that, indeed, it has run out of disk. :'(

When I start the installation it says it needs 80gb to install so I have a good 22% extra yet it won't fit on. As I say, I had the game installed on this drive until a few days ago and was playing it.

I've tried the installation three times today and each time is the same result. I'm lucky I have a fast connection and unlimited data, I guess!

Any advice would be welcome, please.

110GB, so it seems you have some other stuff on there. Is it the OS? I have not messes with W10 much, so this might not apply.

Check things like cache sizes for the recycle bin, or system restore or your web browsers. Those "allocations" may counted as used space by the installer, even though they are not full. System Restore was another space hog, that would allocate 12% of the drive to itself.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Nope, nothing on it. It is a small spare SSD I had so I just used to use it for ESO. It is technically 120gb but drives are never the true size once out of the box

Yea that is the ol binary vs decimal thing. Advertised Space is Described in "binary" and windows gives the number in Decimal. You can google the reason hdd advertised vs installed.

It seems the installer wants to see twice the needed space to unstall. Not sure if its for extraction space, or its for room for the PTS. I lean to extraction. Latest update went more than 60GB, so that could be it.

So, if you have drive with more space, install it on that, then move it to the SSD. There are a few steps to that, all can be found here.

Or buy a larger SSD, 250GB SSDs are about $60 now. Some are less. I shopped Amazon

Thanks for the help, I guess it'll have to be a new drive if I want to carry on playing
