solo daily normal/veteran dungeons

so. i'm a mediocre dd. and most of my attempts to use the random group finder either takes too much time or fails because there are too large pool of dd in the game and too little pool of healers&tanks. and it's rather frustrating.

i try to be an honest player and don't set another role for faster queuing. as i see, many players do so. no offence, i don't think that fake tanks&healers are not so much problem in the most normal and some vet dungeons, especially if they bring decent dps. but a lot of people think different. and I understand them too because daily normal random could throw you to one of dlc dungeons. and these dungeons, even at normal difficulty, require both tank and healer. or you'll have a lot of pain. like me, when daily random put our 4-dds group to fang lair...

but, actually, i don't need any group at all for the non-dlc normal dungeons and maybe even can finish solo most of non-dlc veteran ones. and, i think, most of these fake tanks&healers too. at least, some of them told me such things, when i asked.

so, please, give us a fair opportunity to finish this daily activity without insane long waiting! not all of us like to gather a pre-maid group for such a simple task like daily normal/vet. and, again, it takes time too.

also, it could be a new interesting challenge for some players.

please, you don't need to make anything special, just allow single players to use the queue and remove from it dlc-dungeons and some dungeons like direfrost keep, where you should have at least two players for clicking two buttons at the same time.

just for illustration, my solo experience in CoH1:
again, i'm a mediocre dd, i don't have bis equipment for this char and my dps in dungeons usually is near 25k. and i don't change my build for a rather long time. the whole run took of me 1 hour and 2 mins. near a half of the time was spent on the last boss, though. also, i killed all mobs and bosses at the dungeon and tried to find all the chests and heavy sacks.

because it was the fourth try and i just wanted to kill it... so i slotted the second shield ability and just ran from melee-twin, while my pets were killing them both)

the main point of this experience is that it actually much more fun, then usual 4-dds farm run, which i've made a lot for that motif page. because when your group has near 100k dps... yeah, ilambris twins literally can do nothing with you, even at hard mode. but when i was alone against them, i was forced to remember they moveset and tactics and even change my own)

so, i ask you: would you like to have such an option officially?

sure! it's quite annoying to wait in queue more time, then i would spend doing it solo.

    I have seen templars solo vet dlc dungeons bosses & imperial city bosses with ease. Top class for soloing anything in game.

    I have seen people who solo vet dlc bosses. They typically use breton not high elf with clanfear pet. Health is around 30K with sustained 30K single target dps and 60K multitarget. Many popular streamers not even achieved that feat.

    Unless a person solo vet dlc dungoen bosses or imperial city district bosses, its not worth any rewards or recognition , which almost anyone can do it in max cps.

    Soloing on normal could give 2 keys.
    Soloing on vet could give 3, AND could give a title/dye.

    It's intended by design to be group activity, since it's a multiplayer game. i'm not sure why you think they would give better rewards to people who solo it.

    The only thing that should change is an option be able to que for a random without including the more difficult DLC dungeons.

    Or, you could learn how to Tank or Heal. The roles are not that hard and are more fun than DD anyway.

    I also do think that it would be solving a problem from the wrong end. It's a multiplayer game after all, and right way would be to enhance the role of tanks (as, well, actual tanks) and healers in the game. I can understand that it's enticing and fun to smack things (I'm damage dealer myself), so... maybe should make it more important and more fun to heal and tank things, too.

    Speaking about problems in queuing, getting fake tanks, doing dungeons solo and whatnot - I know it's an unrelated pain point, but I recently realized I feel awfully bad going into a normal random dungeon (yes, I can't be bothered oftentimes) and being grouped with players below level 50. Because I'm giving them bad initial experience of the game, and not because of rushing (which should have a special warm place in hell reserved for that sin), no; I do encourage folks to read quest dialogue and generally take the lead. But when boss fights come, it's detrimental, because having me in the team prevents them from facing the mechanics, learning it, enjoying, struggling, wiping, getting it done right in the end. Dungeon becomes a rollover and it's not how new players should have it.

    Many dungeons are soloable, don't need a queue for them tho, just travel in.

    I don't need a special reward for soloing a dungeon. Then again I've never really understood the whole 'achiement' thing. Used to be speedruns/no death/soloing/etc were challenges you set for yourself, and if you really wanted recognition you'd have your friends watch or maybe record it.

    That said, there's a special place in hell for DPS who queue as tanks/healers. It's not about whether you personally can solo the dungeon or blast through it with a four DPS nuke squad, it's about the other players expecting a tank/healer and getting someone who can't do the job.

    Best case the rest of the group has to work harder to carry your slack, worse case they all wipe a bunch because you're not filling the role you queued for. Worst case everybody wipes because you overestimated your ability or failed to account for how the mechanics work when there's multiple players.

    PUG queues are not the place for stunts like achievement runs or nonstandard group compositions. If you want to do that, get a party together who knows what they're in for and start a group queue.

    I'm confused... It's been possible to do pledges solo (by simply traveling to the dungeon) for as long as I've played this game. What exactly are you asking for?

    The OP is trying to disguise another "I hate the dungeon finder but refuse to form my own pre-made group" rant thread as something else.
