Yea I tried to categorize then as much as possible within the realm of elder scrolls lore.
For this the Knight protects and controls. Warriors are more damage oriented, according to my poll.
Nice thread helpful

I guess I see them as the same guy just different gear. All of that being said my first forays into Templar were inspired by the Warrior/Crusader/Pilgrim/Knight. My main templar more or less falls into your Warrior stream right now but it would be nice if I could find myself actually enjoying playing him in the sword and board full tank role. I just don't see it though. Dragon Knight or Warden fill that role so much better it isn't even close. I wish this were not the case. I think theme goes against the grain on the way the #'s sort themselves out. I'm hopeful though that things will get better. Based on the notes from that class rep meeting with the stamina return from a few of those abilities and other such conversations I do think its possible we'll see a Templar Tank in the future that can chug along like we dream of them doing.
One of the more thoughtful polls I've seen around here, @Minno - awesome!
I'm not sure my templar quite fits into the niches you created, but I picked the one that was closest. He is my main tank, so when venturing into dungeons he is in full heavy armor. His weapon choices don't quite fit what you describe - he uses a maul along with a mace and shield. When doing his own adventuring, however, he'll usually shift so something closer to your "archer" archetype. Medium armor with a couple pieces of heavy, his maul, and his bow.
Eventually I plan to do a magicka-based templar. I'm still working on his (or her) character concept.
