I would like to propose a new class, the Bard.

I love ESO and all of its classes, races and generally the entire game.
There is one thing i'm missing though.
I would love a bard class.
A class where every skill is somehow music/instrument based.
Wether it be support, attack or crowd control.
I think i'm not alone in wanting this.
Tell me your thoughts and let the devs see what you guys and girls think.

Wow! I asked because what you suggested is the exact same type of class they have there. What would be cool is if ESO had the option to load in code for your own instruments for all manner of real life songs. You could, for example, have your lute playing Back in Black (or any song that had the code written for it). Anyway, LotRO has a bard class that does exactly what you were proposing.

Or how about a Paladin (don't give me that templar is a pally bull crap) or an actual freaking barbarian type class. Seriously, how in Zeus's A-hole do you release an ES game and not have a freaking barbarian class? Were they high when they had this meeting?

Yeah they have quite some possibilities with other classes they can add.

It's quite dated now being 11 years old, but it's still going. They actually do have that instrument, er..."coding"....option where you can play all manner of songs on your instruments.

    I want a merchant class.
    http://www.ign.com/wikis/octopath-traveler/Merchant

80% less fee to pay on market when selling
    500% more gold from monsters
Able to create summons (that costs money)
    New weapons class -- polearms
New magic class -- nature/wind (right now we have oblivion, poision, fire, ice, shock, bleed and disease damage)
    Also uses bows.

......and so on and on.....best race for it...you know who

Well as for bards, there are lots of them all across Tamriel.
They may not generally be the fighting type, but they are a thing.
They are a playable class in:
    The Elder Scrolls: Arena
    The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
    An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire
    The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
    The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

There was an amazing mod made for Bards in Skyrim!

More variety is good. I do think that some of these things should be choices though.

If it was up to me each character would have to choose:
    Werewolf or Vampire.
    Fighter's Guild or Mage's Guild.
    Psijic Guild or Necromancer.
    Dark Brotherhood or Thieve's Guild.

Their is some really good potential for a bard/mistral class.

Healing role: can use musical tones and aoe's for buffs and heals.

DD: can use sound-waves to deal damage, like a banshee shout that has a knock back as well.

Tanking: Create barriers, some mitigating aura's

    Would be cool :)

People keep "suggesting" new classes. In actuality, all they seem to do is come up with not-at-all-creative but cool-sounding names for them. Where are the ideas for skills, the thoughts about mechanics? Necromancer "suggestions" are by far the worst culprit, closely followed by ones for Bards, apparently. "We need this, make it happen, yada yada yada."

    Kill Enemy Bards quest lol

I would prefer they don't add any new class, thought if it's inevitable then I would like a Monk class, it's been my favorite, no bards, nor necromancers crap.

I want no classes, for the simple reason that they are a bit painful for me and quite a few other old hands at ESO who already have a dozend or more alts running through the content, both for "Why do I have to do all that content I already know by heart again just to enjoy the new stuff" and even moreso for "Why in the name of all that is unholy was that class not available at launch, it would have made -soooo- much more sense for that backstory of this character I have been playing since launch..."

Thus I disagree with any "new class" idea.

New guilds on the other hand... well... that is something where -both- Bard and Merchant could find their place! Like: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/387560/additional-guild-ideas-mk-ii ;)

...and you can find some Khajiit practicing that sort of thing on Kenarthis Roost if you look around a bit and check out a crumbling temple in the southwestern-ish part of the isle... ;)

Even so, it does make sense that even martial artists would use weapons in Tamriel. It is more effective after all... (I dimly remember an older martial arts movie where they had a nice depiction of that... one fight between two groups empty-handed, and the good guys beat up the bad guys through stronger kung-fu, then the next fight the bad guys came back with weapons and good guys died...)
That said, there -really- should be the -option- or empty-handed brawling attacks! For barrom brawls, or those who like an extra challenge... Like: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/371862/additional-weapon-skill-ideas-mk-ii ;)

In LOTRO, the principal healing class was the minstrel. Of course, it had attack skills as well. But while it was my main class for functional reasons, I never really bought the metaphor that you were strumming the killer lute.

My favorite D&D class is the bard. But in older versions of D&D the main reason is its jack-of-all-trades class construction, and in newer versions the main reason is that it lets you main charisma your primary stat. A small further benefit was that it gave me a pretext to introduce lyrics to some great filk songs, especially "You Bash the Balrog", which has the refrain "You bash the Balrog and I'll climb a tree".

    http://www.newsfrombree.co.uk/balrog.htm

The fundamental benefit of D&D charisma is to make your NPC conversations go better. Morrowind (the only previous Elder Scrolls game I've played) had something similar. But with the investment ZoS put into voice acting, I can't imagine them ever adding that mechanic into ESO.
