Fengrush's Emperor stream or similar content would sell this game

I'm not sure how many caught his stream yesterday. That should have been sponsored/had drops enabled. I know they said they've had conversations with him in this thread:

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/425303/eso-drops-should-be-for-all-streamers/p3

That stream would have sold copies of this game. As it stands, there were already people in the chat asking questions and discussing how epic the game looked. People who watch Fengrush from other games he has played. I see today that yogscast are reviewing thrones with drops enabled on a sponsored stream. That's fine content. I'm sure people are enjoying that stream. Although, it doesn't quite bring the hype or the biceps like that emperor stream last night did. Cyrodiil is some of the most engaging content this game. Especially when it performs well. Sotha was performing well last night and the game looked great. Incredible really. I think most of the player-base can agree that sales are good for all of us. I'm not posting this to highlight specifically Fengrush, most of the community engaged in this game already know who he is. I'm posting this because I believe that sort of content is what should be highlighted and would sell ESO to new players. When gamers see streams that involve the community, it makes them want to get involved. Fengrush leading his Orc army, breathing new life into Sotha and putting on a good show while doing it? That sells games. Big plays and engaging content such as that will sell copies.

If anyone hasn't seen it yet I suggest viewing towards the end of the stream during one of his last stands at Aleswell. My point in posting this is to get discussion going around what sort of content is engaging to view. From a new player perspective.

What would sell the game even more is a better server/client performance and less balance issues.

I agree from a player perspective the server performance definitely needs to be improved. That's not the sort of thing that prospective new players would really notice. Most of us still play through the issues because the content is good. The PVP is, usually, a good and unique experience. If ZOS realized that could/would really sell copies maybe they would put more focus into improving it.

the game works on pc in its current capacity very well and if they actually got fengrush to do these streams we see large influxes of players

Players who motivate the community to do things like he's been doing are fantastic for helping sell copies of games.

I've seen other MMO's capitalise on this well, finding events, players or themes popular within the game now and getting it out there.
Sharing some clips of his army could be a good one for the ESO social media side.

Ya. Performance is what would sell the game and keep others here. Fengrush and the crew back in the day trashed the game and scared way more people away from the game then he will ever bring to it. I would bet if he had it to do over he would have been more fair and more diplomatic about how they acted. Heck i even had thought of quitting the game when I used to watch him stream.

I wouldn't recommend this game to my worst enemy on Xbox in its current state. Which is a shame because much of the content is either fun, rewarding, challenging or a mix of all of those things when you aren't crashing to the xbox dashboard in the middle of it.

I went back and rewatched Angry Joes PvP video a few days ago. And the saddest part of that video is Joe praising the PvP and saying that its the strong point of the game where as the PvE was lackluster....Now 4 years later and its the complete opposite. PvE is the favored son and PvP is the redheaded step child.

While I would not be surprised that Fengrush streams have helped sell some copies of this game. It is not the end all of sales for this game and certainly does not sell huge amounts of copies. Nor does any other streamer's activities.

Console performance has been atrocious ever since the release of Thieves Guild at least if you go by forum posts. Ironically Summerset - that was marketed as the big performance improvement - has made it worse for consoles.

Regardless of platform ESO is an awesome game with great content and a unique and good combat system - when it does work. The game would soar high above all else if only they could solve the performance issues. That people still play is a testament to the game that could have been.

Well-said. This is kind of a back-handed compliment but it is impressive they can still get me to log in every day and play with how bad performance is. If only they could get a handle on things (Narrator voice: they cant)

Agreed. If they fixed the performance I could see this game going 10+ more years strong. I dont see the graphics growing old any time soon and they do good adding content. There is only one thing holding this game back from being one of the if not the best mmo ever created.

At first, I wasnt so fond of Fengrush but honestly over the years, hes really grown on me and others. For me is the most important player to the PVP community.

    He:
    1) Says everything how it is
    2) Has indepth knowledge on the game
    3) Understands what could be done to be improved
    4) Has a good crowd of friends and stream followers around him
    5) Great theorycrafter but is also careful of what he puts out there to not ruin PVP

Not listened to enough by ZOS who favour other players and the PVE scene way more which kinda sucks.

For those of us already thoroughly versed in PVP you may be correct. Although others would argue that this sort of team gameplay is more engaging to watch and is what cyrodiil was originally designed to be.

correcting for him: no one cares about watching <ESO> streamers.

eso twitch community is dead, 500 viewers for a single streamer (and the game overall most of the day) is nothing compared to other mmos (WOW, BDO, FF XIV) which have multiple streamers pulling 2k+ every single stream.

The only eso streamers that get that are those french guys which came over with a huge community from different games. Not even sure if they still stream eso.

Streamer #'s for ESO on twitch are really sad. Usually on a good stream there are maybe 2-3k viewers, go into the real life section and some hottie in yoga pants making oatmeal will have 200k viewers. I don't think there's much use for marketing dollars on Twitch from ESO.

At this moment the highest pop ESO twitch channel has ~200 people watching, 12k people are watching a girl on her smart phone. To me that says it all.
    “Whatever.”
