I'd rather have a new class, but there are a lot of fun options in the world. Maomer and Falmer look really cool even though they're usually bad guys. Akiviri, Nedes and Ayleids are neat but would need a lore workaround, some kind of time travel jazz. I think the most exciting would be Lilmothiit (fox-ish beastfolk, never seen in a game as yet) and Tsaesci (Snakelike, though thought to have been changed men, not beastfolk.) But I don't think any of this is very likely.

Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

I would race-change the hell out of my chars if ayleids would be a playable race.

But im not convinced with how the current classes have an impact on gameplay and gamefeeling that i voted no and instead suggest a overhaul of the current classes. I even have something in my mind, but its currently under construction, i will post a thread about overhaul suggestions when time is ripe.

I would rather ZOS re-balance the existing races than add new races. There's also lore concerns, and all-in-all I expect ZOS would have more backlash from creating new playable races than they would receive praise for it.

I expect the only possible new playable race we may see in the future is the Maormer.

I would, however, be interested in seeing divergent "sub-races". For example: Colovian and Nibenese "sub-races" for the imperials, or Ashlander and Great-House "sub-races" for the Dunmer, etc.

I think it would add a little bit for the role-players out there and there could be different passives for the "sub-races" which may change up their role in the Meta.

    Moarmer plz!

I made a thread longer than a year ago but here's what I said:

I've been thinking about it since I met the Maormer in Kenarthi's Roost. We all know the Sea Vipers and Ambassador Ulondil, among other NPCs. So we have the race, it's just not currently playable.

I thought this would be an amazing DLC(chapter, whatever, same thing). Where you can unlock the Moarmer race and start on Pyandonea. I find this race intriguing as their culture, origin and possibilities in ESO are exciting.

Just a little background regarding the Maormer. They are likely descended from the Aldmeri. It is believed the Moarmer king, Orgnum, rebelled against the Aldmeri. Orgnum and his followers were exiled to Pyandonea(The Veil of Mist) and thus became the Moarmer(Sea Elves). Orgnum is now not just their immortal king but said to be the Serpent God of Satakal. The Maormer practice a powerful form of snake magic and can control sea serpents as mounts and pets.

As they are seen as the Mer-Elves, they could be the first race to use their mounts (Sea Serpents) on water.

ESO is currently in the middle of the second era, so the Second Aldmeri Dominion and Moarmer aren't at war, but the Moarmer are attacking Altmer coastlines. You may ask, what faction would they belong to. To that you could treat them like the Imperials where you choose one of the current three.
Dragonborn, huh? Was it your ma or your pa that was the dragon?

    yep because why not =D

more choises are always better even if not for min/max but for aesthetics purpose

actually i'll be happy even if they only added more voice choises for existing races

choosing between 3 awful and not matching your character and 3 left which you allready used on other chars

    feels really bad =D

Honestly, an Elder Scrolls game wouldn't feel right by adding another playable race, but I am not 100% opposed to the idea. It just has to make sense.
Ultimately, the current races needs a rework to make them more playable in some instances instead of everyone being required to play a certain race to get the best DPS, be the tankiest or have the best healing resources. I think that is the more pressing thing rather than develop new passives for a new race.

A lot of the lore concerns are with things like rarity of the races, but they could be kept rare if players were limited to one character of the rare races per account and then they were locked behind some sort of achievement or questline. Options like the Akaviri races would be fine if ZOS made an Akavir expansion, too.

I only like playing one character also, but you wouldn't have to race change if a new one comes out. The key would be for ZOS to balance them well.

No race changes. Get rid of race changes. Get rid of all changes (except respecs). Live with what you made and stop being crazy.

We can't change ourselves in real life! Why should we be able to do it in ESO?

Wait... I just remembered that I watched "Botched" last night... My bad. I'm wrong. We CAN change it all in real life!

    Vive le change!

Now... can I get a change to a Slaveen?

Lilmothiit, Daedra (not technically a race, but I'd love to see Zos add more options for those of us who don't like to always be the good guy), and Moamer.

But especially Lilmothiit. I know, I know, they're thought to be extinct - but IDC.

I agree that it would have to make sense, but regarding rebalancing current races, I think it is more of an issue for only a couple of the current ones. Altmer, Dunmer, and Breton for instance are all viable magsorc race picks, but hardly anyone will pick a Nord for any class/role.

I like the idea of sticking to the classic Elder Scrolls races that have been playable in the single player games before ESO. I'd probably feel more comfortable with the idea of a new race if they first added it to Elder Scrolls 6 and injected a healthy dose of lore about that race into the game.

I also feel like certain currently playable races could use a buff, especially Nords. Right now there is really no build that I am aware of where a Nord would be the best choice. That should change. Wood Elves are also very rarely picked, especially for a PvE build. Most of the time, you'd want a Redguard or Khajiit over a Wood Elf unless you plan to go gank people in Cyrodil.

    And that's the problem.
They -are- already in the game, and unfortunately way too big to be useful. Same for ogres and such, really.
Not to mention their digitigrade legs would make things iffy with the leg slot, either they would have to program some alternate appearance for leg armor there (lots of work refitting this) or they would have to go "classic" and just remove that slot... similar with the head slot, really, because horns. Which has happened before in TES games... but would be somewhat painful when you face peple in PVP with two less armor & set pieces, yes?

Maaaaaaaaayyyyyyyybe they could make some demi-minotaurs sometime, with humanoid sized figures, human legs and small horns they can hide sort-of-plausibly beneath a helmet like with argonians... but that would be pushing things, and likely only be considered when all the "more likely" possibilities I outlined in mentioned post were exhausted, and had made them enough profit that they were greedy for more...

Something more likely might be crown-store structural unlocks for "halfbreeds", which would be entirely cosmetic (Since in the elder scrolls universe, children -always- are the race of their mothers, by fiat of the creators).
Like... a "titan-born" unlock for nords that makes them a head taller then currently possible, or a "ogre-born" unlock for orcs that makes them more robust and blue-ish skinned, or indeed a "bulls-blood" unlock for imperials that gives them a more robust and hirsute build and small horns... (which would give rise to a pile of "Rule 34" fanfiction slash about how those happened I am sure... I know I have seen some of that already...)
There could be loads of other "structural" unlocks, for people who want to make breton dwarfs who drink wine and know things, or overly chubby redguard harem guards who may have given up more for the position then most people would want to know about or big chested matronely priestesses of mara who probably complain of massive back pains every evening, or overly muscular orcs who you wouldn't like when they got angry, or pixielike elves who get denied alcoholic drinks at any self-respecting establishment until they provide proof of age, or... or...
And in that spirit, there also could be more unlocks, like out-of-race skin and hair colors... how many times have people pleaded here to get black-hiared altmer characters? Just add an "ayleidborn" unlock to make it possible! Or bronze-skinned nords for the "surfer viking" look and explain it as some redguard blood in their ancestry...

Just think of how much fun we could have further diversifying our characters that way! And how much crowns we'd spend... ;)
