What Is Your Favorite and Least Elder Scrolls Architecture?

I like the Nord buildings. Solid, traditional, practical and suit the environment.

Breton architecture is the most familiar I guess, although (from what I remember from Oblivion the Cyrodilic stuff is bog-standard fantasy as well).

I don't dislike anything, although the Summerset stuff isn't as wacky as I thought it would be.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

Just about anything that has come out post launch has been really good. Very thought out and given the proper treatment. The architecture has been spot on. This includes Alinor, which I know a lot of people love to hate but I find to be very well done. Ive never been a fan of idea that elves just live in these magical places that transcend the world around them. I really like the grounded approach to Summerset while still keeping that feeling of being a place of magic.

I think the worst offenders of architecture is just about all of the base game styles. They all feel haphazardly put together and realized. They all have potential but you can tell they were on a deadline and not a whole lot of experience with design tools.

See I'm a Breton architecture fan because I love that fantasy gothic look. My least favorite are Bosmer and Argonian. I own Mathiisen and Domus Phrasticus. Still waiting for my gothic castle. Hopefully one day.

    Favorites: Bosmeri, Clockwork

    Least favorite: Saxhleel mud piles

Redguard architecture has a nice open feel to it. I like the outside of Dunmer and Breton buildings, but inside they're dark and kind of oppressive. Neutral on the rest.

Khajiit is nice but REALLY overscaled. They have like 20ft ceilings I don't even know why.

    Nord is lovely.

Dunmer is utter crap, dismal, depressing, oppressive. Except for Balmora. The wiki says it's Hlaalu architecture and I like it.

While I absolutely adore Dunmer style architecture, I have to say Redguard looks more polished, distinct, and I love the colors. My least favorite is Bosmer, I don’t much care for ropes, vines, and bones look.

Hm, as much as I try, I guess I don't have a favorite architecture, I like them all, because they fit into their environment pretty well. If I really had to choose, well, Hew's Bane is much after my liking - I like architecture with arabic influence. But the beautiful style of a small house in the Rift (Autumn's Gate) is as well one of my favorites - well, all have something to them.

Hopefully, Argonians will finally get a nice small, medium or large wooden house with Mirkmire but I bet there's only going to be a huge manor-sized house with too much space for the item limit. lol

ZOS, prove me wrong and then prove me wrong again with the other DLC zones.

Favourite is altmer. I was worried about that criticism of summerset being ‘not lore friendly’ but actually it looks amazing - elvish but also rooted in real world - certainly not glorified Breton architecture as some have said.

Least favourite not sure but on balance probably Orc.

Khajiit prefers the Redguard style of buildings yes. Built with warm sands in mind. Yet simple enough to allow you to very much make a place your own.

Most of the other styles are not really to the taste of this one in terms of building style but this one can and does use all kinds of furnishings.

I hate clockwork. Badly. I have yet to do the Clockwork City DLC. I got like 5 sub-quests in and left.
    Other dislikes:
I'll scratch my head over everything that makes me navigate in a surprising way. Having to enter a house on the second floor and then having to go downstairs (Morrowind).
Poorly designed city layouts, where I have to run through half the city to pick up dailies, run long distances between bank and crafting stations or daily dropoffs. (That would be Wayrest). I am fine with the architecture, but the city planning stinks.
