What do you use instead of Siroria?

I play a same non-pet-crushing-shock Sorc build as you

2x Monsterset (Ilambris, Slimecraw, grothdar)
5x Julianos body
3x Willpower jewelry
Asylum (even if only the imperfect one) and vMA staves.
Thief Mundus in this case.

I'm messing around with replacing willpower and Asylum with BSW. It works fine, (BSW uptime is between 50 and 55%) but not as sexy as the above, in my testing.


I really like Grothdar in vMA btw. But take it off in round 7, you can kill your shield guy by accident... (don't ask me how I know hehe)

I’ve been rolling Queens Embrace with IA and Illambris. I keep saying it’s only until I find better. I have a full Necro/Julianos set and all the others mentioned and I outperform with my current no pet set up.

I use Moondancer with Jul, its not that bad both the recovery passive both the spell damage one (its literally 15ish siroria stack)

For non-NBs, 2p Slimecraw is hands-down the best monster set for content where you don't get Combat Prayer (e.g., vMA or vAS).

Pretty much this. BSW only if you have a fire staff back bar.

I tested this as well, the uptimes are actually really bad. Because your crit is quite low when MA isn't procced you end up with too much time where Scathing Mage has too low a chance to activate.

OK, staying focussed on VMA, I understand that:
- Slimecraw is best in slot - because you never miss-out on its benefit (while you can walk out of Ilambris and Grothdarr)
- BSW, Julianos and Acuity are more or less the same, but BSW depends on Wall of Fire.
So, between Julianos and Acuity, which is best overall? Julianos seems to be the more constant and steady but less powerful than Acuity, whereas Acuity is stronger than Julianos but more RNG based.

Yup. Julianos is still good and you don't have to farm it. But I seem to remember watching a video by Gilliam where he said Mechanical Acuity is still one of the better options. I didn't finish the video though so I can't remember if he provided numbers to back that one up and I'm to busy to test it myself.

If you are a non-pet Magsorc running VMA:
- 3 Willpower is stronger than 3 Moondancer
- An Asylum staff is a better choice for applying status effects
- Mechanical Acuity is still the best in slot (for force-pulse/crushing-shock users)

This is basically the build I've been using the previous patch. The only thing I want to try is Slimecraw instead of Illambris. The only thing that makes me slightly more suspicious is the fact that Slimecraw (even though it gives me 8% damage bonus) does not come with Magicka bonus, and Magicka actually amplifies your light and heavy attack damage as well. In fact, he states (in another video) that one extra Magicka bonus translates into 2-3k extra DPS. This is why he now runs infused on the large pieces of his armor.

Yes to that combo. Also another combo... valkyn, bsw, willpower asylum and maelstrom.

Pet sorc i use siroria, necro and illambris.

Sure you can. Bsw on body (chest,waist,legs,feet,gloves)
Skoria head and shoulders
Willpower jewelry
Maelstrom staff back bar
Asylum staff front bar

It's about the same as Julianos but the built in burning proc makes it better.
