Is line of sight considered dishonorable in a duel?

I don't know duel ethics but I've gotten called out for it when I thought it was fine.

If they duel you next to a tree and not out in a field then it’s their fault. Was it a Sorc? If so. They more than likely couldn’t use their zaans or soul assault on you effectively. So they mad.

It was a mag sorc that called me out for it if that actually matters. I though since I'm a squishy stam build that can't hide behind shields that it was ok

All is allowed in love, war and duels. Sore losers always make excuses, just reply with hahahahaha and then when they rage more you will laugh more naturally. Thats my way of reacting when I get whispers after a duel or BG or when in Cyrodiil.

lol all them mag sorcs complaining about line of sight while they are hiding behind their 3 shields mines 2 pets and an atro just in case. Don't feel bad about it you done nothing wrong. Normally if there is a duel tournament or sth yes its usually requiered to fight in plain sight no hiding but in a simple duel especially against a magsorc lol...

Throwing budballs is dishonorable (and annoying) in any situation, but using combat mechanics ... not so much i would guess.

Depends on the one doing the considering. Some people seem they would prefer a turn-based system where each person gets to use one action, then stand and wait for the next person to perform and action. I want enemy NPC LOS-type arrows and spells. They can follow you for any distance, around and through any objects. It seems like the devs in this game are all sky-high on some type of hallucinogenic drug. They make damn sure there is not the tiniest bit of a way you can use the terrain to your advantage. If you stand up on a rock or anything where an NPC cant reach you, then magically that enemy won't take lasting damage, and keeps returning to full health. Yet they can hit you through and around any objects. They love to nerf and suck the fun out of any and everything. Soulless game....

Using LOS in a duel is on par with using resource poisons in a duel.

Technically anything is legal. But if you’re gonna draw the line somewhere, LOSing should be the very first thing to get blocked

Didn't know resource poisons were a no in duels either. Are regular damage poisons fine?

You know, for some people, even using certain skills is dishonorable.

Of course, we are not talking about concerted tournaments with given rules.

I wanted to see sloads and how it was in duels. I put a purple set on with wizards, then did nothing but block, spam heals and throw out total dark. Was funny watching 90% of players just kill themselves in seconds by doing almost nothing.

I use one shield, no pets/no mines etc - I lately (only recently, def after Summerset) find LOS a bit too 'overnerfed' in PVE as well.

LOS is ok in a duel - But if you run off you've lost. Don't matter how many t-bags you do in the distance.

Technically it's a dishonorable thing to do on a true duel but not in a 1v1 that occurs open world/BG obviously.

However I don't see much difference between you using a rock/tree and a zoo Sorc using 3 pets to LOS :D

"I lost because I couldn't get my attacks to connect with my opponent because he kept running around. Running around is cheap and dishonorable! Real talented players stand and face their opponent with their feet firmly in place. True duels should be a testament of my gear/rotation vs yours!"

I call those people sore loosers.

    What is honorable?

The true honorable duels are the ones where the two have strong builds and an understanding of pvp and can learn during the fight what the other ones build is just by watching them. They adapt and conquer. In the end, there's no tea bagging but a mutual respect for each others skills and build.

That is an honorable duel to me. Other that that, a duel is a duel. Nothing more. Nothing honorable about running from person to person and asking to duel a PVE build.

In my (limited)experience in duels a sore loser will continuously move the goalposts no matter what you do.

"Line of sight isn't fair!" So you stop LoSing

"Your gear is total cheese!" So you swap it out for straight stat gear.

"That one skill you keep using is completely OP!" So you stop using that skill

"This whole game is ridiculously unbalanced!!!!" So why did we duel in the first place then?

It just goes on and on.

If you fight in Cyrodiil, you deal with everything, so why should a duel be any different? One of my buddies always tells me to heal when he's almost killed me lol. It's more annoying than him just executing me.
