striking at the heart quest infinite loading plus stuck in shadow world

I was able to make it through most of the quest without any issue but when I get to the part where I have to load into valenheart it just loads forever. I was frustrated with this but I figured I'd just say screw it and go do another quest but now I am stuck in the shadow world and it's dark wherever I go. here's a screenshot so you can see what I mean https://gyazo.com/d1af2a554b2d74b94497761d3bc38265 emailed customer support but haven't gotten a response from an actual human being so I'm just wondering if anyone here knows how to fix either of these issues?
