This cycles crown crates

So looked at the crown crates, they are horrible this cycle! Normally there might be something that temps me to buy some like a full book motif, but not this time. Thank you zos for making easy on me! I dont typically buy crowns, typically i just save the gems since you typically get garbage anyhow. Which thats what i got from the free crates.

On another note, Zos needs to re-evaluate their current crown store items. They need to drop prices about half on almost everything. For example Xivkyn motif for 5k crowns, yeah right! What does everyone else think?

You´re right. Store prices are too high in my pov. A little cheaper items and more variety (like adding all past items) would mean a much better crown store to me.

Well, no-one should be buying the motifs anyway, most of them are available in-game. (Which I suppose is part of why they're over-priced - you're paying for convenience in this case. Like the $4 cans of soda in hotels minibars.)

I mostly don't have a problem with the prices - the things that are expensive are 99% of the time things I wouldn't buy anyway. So it doesn't bother me what they cost.

Needs more/better costumes, don't just move things from the outfit section to the crown crate section c'mon man lol

I like the nocturnal statue and the mounts though, they look like Pokémon

To be honest if the fact people will buy the game twice to get their fix is anything to go by equating it to a coffee and a muffin. Then I reckon zenimax have their pricing bang on after all it’s only three large mochas and a handful of muffins for the motif.

Yeah pretty disappointed.. been waiting to spend my gems and then to buy crates to get more gems if there were things I wanted, but aside from the black lion, there's nothing I want. Now I'm sitting on 15k crowns and 400 gems with nothing to spend them on.

ZOS is really missing out on players like myself who will buy a lot of crates for gems to buy items with gems. I don't like outright gambling, so the gems work well for me since I know if I spend x amount I can get something I want, but with less and less items available for gems.. I don't spend any money at all.

I genuinely find this crate season boring. Non of these ghost-like aura-emitting mounts catch my eye. Not even the radiant apex. The only worth the gems is the statue of nocturnal, the elemental gloves and a few cheaply-priced costumes from the past.

I don't like the fact that we can't grind mounts, pets and skins that are in these crates. 98% of cosmetics are behind the paywall. I have already paid for everything and there is a cash shop? No thanks.

yeah, real disappointed today.
Had been waiting to spend a bunch of crowns but discovered there was absolutely not a single thing i wanted out of these crates... no motifs, costumes, pets, mounts... nothin'.
I'd even be interested in the psijiic mounts but i don't like the blue drappery they put on them.
Sorta bummed cuase i did really want a shot at one of the hidden mounts which look dope, but with my luck trying to get one of those is pointless especially when theres nothing i want with the gems i'd get.

I had 234 crown gems and it was enough to get everything I wanted from this season.
Spider pet, magic circlet and Pyandonean pages I missed.
This season is complete fail.

It is how the game lives. ESO doesn't have subscription, they need to make money off something. Other MMOs like WoW only have a few mounts and non-combat pets that you can buy, however you need to pay monthly subscription and have to purchase every expansion that comes out because it is mandatory to play the game.

Other games that share the same payment model as ESO, for example GW2, also have a large amount of cosmetics locked behind a paywall. Unfortunately it is how non-subscription MMOs survive. You can't expect a company to run itself without any profits.

However with that being said, they could add a couple different mounts tied to achievements or the like, that aren't horses, because the only non-crown store mounts are basic looking horses.

I'm glad somebody posted this because I was thinking the exact same thing. Pretty terrible offering compared to previous crate seasons. The radiant apex mounts look horrendous. Who on earth thought that gummy bears would be a good design theme? The legendary items should all be a tier or two lower. The lion caught my eye at first glance, but it's literally just a black senche that they threw a mane on. Lazy. Legendary tier polluted with too many tapestries, junk statue, etc.

There was only one thing that I actually wanted: the exemplar horse for my psijic themed sorcerer. Since I had crowns to burn from the plus subscription, I picked up a pack, got junk, and used the gems to grab the horse. I certainly won't be looking back on this season again, hopefully next is better.

I also have gems to spend now, and agree that this Psjic Vault season is lacking compared to past seasons.

I'm hoping they offer past season crates again soon. There are several things I want from them.

The only thing I want from the Crown Crates are something I can't get. I want that green senche but it's a "radiant" apex reward, which means I'm completely screwed in getting it. Literally the one thing I want/need.

There wasn't much I wanted, so I bought the motifs for gems (225 with the full set, swords, and bow), an extra outfit slot, and an outfit token. I was planning on buying one of the mounts, but they aren't as cool as my wolf from the scalecaller crates.

So you can't buy the motif pages with Crowns? You have to use gems? Might as well call it the Gem Store...

I am sure Zos constantly evaluates the prices in the crown store and it's offerings. They do so via that revenue stream.

The radiant mounts all look terrible and have bad particle effects. The green senche literally looks as if it’s cobbled together from trash with leaves, jello skin and fumes coming off it. Like why would I ever whale for that? Worst batch since the flame atros.

then again, i kinda expected that this would happen eventually. the only things other then Nocturnal that i want out of the crates are things that I already bought back when they are available for direct purchase, so I'll just grab nocturnal with gems, and call it a day for this particular shipment. on a plus side - moar money to spend on in RL stuffs!

its the motif that you fish out. you can get it out of crates, our out of bottles you fish up in summerset.

I guess not, it was the set the broke up individually, 25 gems per page.

i guess they figure that if they just keep the prices so outrageously high, it wont matter about the masses of people who wont bother buying them because of the two or three people that will

I think it is a pretty good crown season. I really like the exemplar mounts and I don't mind the blue motif book parts. Actually, I like them because I can choose to gem them (I would like to have the choice to gem anything by the way especially gold housing stuff I don't want.)

Furthermore, I think that ZOS has generally done a great job with the crown stuff. They have never gone pay to win and they regularly deliver good looking stuff for people to buy. They even give some a way so that everybody gets some love.

I hear a lot of QQ'ng and threats to quit over stuff you don't have to buy but I have never known anybody to quit over crown issues. Folks I know who quit did so over:
1) Champ system starting and removal of soft caps
2) Morrowind combat balance idiocy
3) PVP lag and fails on fixes
4) Lack of action on player issues such as cheat engine, DDOS attacks, and autotriggering bans my mass reporting (trade guild bullying and general bad behavior.)

I can't wait to see some of the new radiant mounts around. I always feel like I found a little treasure when I first see a new mount around and generally chase down the poor owner like a stalker to have a look.
