Question to console players: playing ESO with a pad must be a total pain in the... or is there any way to plug a keyboard and a mouse?

I could give it a shot on ps4 but its pad holds me back

I'm pretty sure on xbox one you can play with keyboard and mouse.

I saw something called xim apex I think that allows this.

You can't. At least not "legally".

You can use a keyboard to type messages, but not to play.

Even when Microsoft implements the promised support for keyboard and mouse, I don't know if ZOS will allow it.

Due to the responsiveness of PC controls and the precision of mouse aim, PC players inherently have more control over their characters, which in PVE settings leads developers to overtune the content for greater difficulty. Meanwhile, console gamers are so used to their games being faceroll easy that they become shocked beyond belief when they try to play the exact same game on PC and blame the controls. Meanwhile, PC players moving over to the console version notice the worse mob AI and lower stress involved during combat given the toothless content and simply applying their advanced tactics for overcoming hyper aggressive deadly bosses leads to an effortless console experience.

That's why there's this great divide between PC and console players. Once you've played a game on PC difficulty, playing on console is boring.

? we get the exact same game as PC, minus the add-ons.
Edit: plus an extra hefty dose off lag and graphical errors that PC doesn't have to deal with, at least to the extent present on console.

I dare you, switch to PC and try to do 1vX vid ;) you will die 95% of a time. PC players have add-ons to give them clues about whats going so PvE is much easier without any doubts, but when both sides (PvP) use them it sharpens their skills. They need to be faster, more precise, they need to master rotations because both sides are using tools that help them and they need to overcome it.

I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

Once upon a time I used to PVP on PC with no add-ons on a low rez non-gaming laptop with only a trackpad and no mouse.

That, my friend, requires skill. :)

You can also try to play with your screen off, that my friend requires even more skill :D But we're not talking about artificial limitations ;)

Also don't forget how much easier PvE is with add-ons that give combat alerts telling you when to dodge, block etc. and track your dots for you...

There is a reason all raiding guilds in WoW made you get Deadly Boss Mods.

I am just waiting for some PC elitist to try and refute this point, because it isn't possible to do so.

PC players have it much easier. I'd argue because of this, console players are better.

As a former WoW player I can tell you that I refused to use the addon and most guilds would accept it but with a skeptical note. Untill they realized I was preforming better without then the people with the addon. Lesson of the day: learning a bossfight is quicker then constantly having to keep track of dozens of timers on your screen. Much more rewarding too! Console ftw!

Only thing I miss from PC is the skyshards and lorebook addons.

Game feels more lively on console more players and the pvp skill lvl is definitely a real thing. There will always be potatoes but at least console potatoes dont have their hands being held.

Hahaha I may of well have. ESO ended up killing that poor deficient laptop.

Another thing is that on PC, your camera is free while your movement is tied to skill buttons while on console is the opposite. You can move freely using skills but your camera is on the finger you use for 3 skills.

Not unless you have an Xbox One Elite controller.

As I said, I was considering the default settings.

There are workarounds for all those things if we don't use default controllers and mice.

I ment that the Xbox One Elite controller has paddles so your thumb or finger is not off the camera and you still have your other fingers to use the three skills still. If you are use to the new controller (I am not) you never let go of the camera view. Hope this makes sense.
Not my quote but I love this saying

It does. I use the Elite controller, though admittedly I could only get use to one paddle to switch bars... Too many potions were wasted trying to get used to more paddles.

Still, Elite doesn't come with the Xbox One by default, that is why I didn't consider it. Just like using a mouse with extra buttons is not considered the "default".

But anyway, you are right that it does overcome some differences, like special mouse+keyboard might too.

you guys say console players are better than PC Master Race players........

    AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Pretty much everyone agrees that you have better tools.

I’d love to hear a counter argument as to why you’d assume you had better overall players.

A professional football team has better tools and resources to help performance than a high school team. Does that mean the High School team is better? That is a weird leap of logic if you ask me.

The flip-side of the argument is that since everyone has the tools, the competition level across the same platform is much higher. It's also not a great leap of logic to assume that someone spending $2K on a computer is going to take their gaming experince more seriously than someone who spends 300 bucks on an Xbox. Of course, that could lead to a biased conclusions because 300 to you might not be the same as it is to me, but I do think there is something to it.

The reality is that for the last 20 or so years of gaming makes it pretty obvious that on any multi platform game, the competition level on PC is going to be higher than it is on console with pretty few exceptions. I think the most obvious area where this is noticeable is in Shooters. One stat you can measure is the average time of an encounter. In other words, if 2 people run into each other in a hallway how much time lapses on average before the fight is over. That interval is much shorter on PC than console.

How populated is cp and pre 50 Cyrodiil on PS4. Keep debating trying it out to sit back with a controller and minus add ons. Kind of gimp yourself to not use them in PC
