I see your point and you are right, in a raid it would translate to much higher numbers.
All I'm trying to say is, using a different set than Elf Bane, you can get easily higher without the lover. And that would translate to even more in a raid. I can screenshot a parse tomorrow where I hit 49k with the apprentice.
I think it's just not right to tell people to use Elf Bane when there are other, much better alternatives.
I absolutely agree with you on the second part. These set differences don't even matter at around 30k.^^

Or do another heavy attack. I love it. Most fun I have had on my magdk ever. Now I am not the best DPS. These guys saying anything less then 48k DPS is terribad is crazy to me. You can do all content in the game with 30k dps and comfortably I might add. Of course if you are a dummy hero, anything less then the absolute top 1% is literally the worst.

Omg this ^^^^^^. I’m in a guild now (that I intend on leaving) where I need to hit 52k on my stamblade to be on their “Main team.” I hit 45k, which isn’t even to their cut off for VET TRIALS. Until I hit 46k, I can’t participate in their vet trials. Never mind the fact that I was in a guild previous to this one, with about 90% of their members, and tanked/dps’d every trial (all crag hm’s, vHoF, vMoL multiple times). Now I’m not good enough to run a standard vet trial......

Partly I blame the meta ***’s out there that fill everyone’s head with parse numbers so much. We’re all so enamored with “dummy parses” despite their incredible unreliability. People build for those dummy parses, but use combinations of abilities and equipment you’d never use in a trial. Yes, Siroria will give the absolute best parse.....except you wouldn’t use ir in VCR, VAS, and likely VHoF with the moving around in there.

Target dummy’s have been blessing and a curse on ESO

....if you arent using siroria in VCR and VAS you're doing it wrong. VHof is stack and burn, so obviously siroria is bis...smdh

He's using Zaan, elf, and mechanical acuity. Lover, 1 blood, 2 arcane. I'd imagine BSW is a comparable replacement for acuity if you don't like the uncertainty of MA.

He does mention he doesn't think it's BiS, but 47k is still 47k. It also changes the rotation from the very basic one mag DK has had for years with very little change.

Personally I'm in favor of it just because it makes the DK rotation different. But I'm also pretty much sidelining my magDK cuz both my NB consistently do more with less sustain issues.

Also really disappointed ZOS adds built in sustain to our kit, and makes it a joke. It's barely even 80 Magicka per second if you get lucky.

If you arent hitting 50k with lover on a magdk then it's a *** setup...and he knows this. He had a 48k parse with Thief in siroria/bsw....
