Zos Communication Since Summerset is Awful. Even on Highly Questionable issues.

Zos Communication is terrible Since Summerset announcement. There are a few really large questions and issues that have been apparent since PC release with no answers. These are serious issues. Possibly resulting in Bans why are they not answered?

Crown Store Gifting for Gold.

Zos has officially Approved

Why has this not been answered? We had a list of a customer service rep on a email from another players. Why can’t we get an official answer to this? We don’t need you to neglect this issue only to PermaBan people after you deem it against TOS. So why no comment?

People walking through Keep walls. Last time something like this happened two weeks later you started banning people for it. Yet this bug exists. With again No COMMUNICATION. We don’t need 50% of pvp disappearing overnight due to bans. That would kill NA PS4 pvp.

Complete Freezes in New update. Why did this happen? Why does it happen. If you walked around for 10 minutes you to see yet we get no information. If this is how the game plays for the next 6 months I’m done. You promised performance updates since November and now it’s worse than its ever been.

We need these answered. Period.

Crownstore gifting for gold -has- been answered, actually.

A ZOS rep has stated in an email to someone who I cant remember, that it does not break terms of service.

As for performance, performance allways gets worse because ZOS keeps trying to push this engine further than it can go.

Really? I think they are doing pretty okay.

Don't forget the Huge Banhammer and the two patches that they already released.

Keep the eye on dev tracker up there. It's very informative.

Why does it have to be so indirect? Do they answer it to one person and then tell them to pass the info on through the grape vine?

ZOS could just, you know, actually use their official ESO forums to communicate with everyone in a professional manner. I think the fact that we only have an answer from an email sent to one person just proves OP's point.

Actually two different people have stated they got a response from ZOS reps Saying the exact opposite of each other.
One said it is against the rules one said it is not Both quote the same part of the TOS.
Until there is an answer from am official rep posted to the forums and the TOS and EULA updated there is no answer.

    Why is a no answer?

I think that is preety okay to some good folk to exchange gifts every once in a while. I'm sure ZOS will take action if things gets too suspicious.

Which is a bit mind boggling since it's a proprietary Engine that uses Havok as a middleware physics engine....Blizzard created it's own Engine for WoW and as the years passed we saw the netcode get pretty tight, but then again they didn't use middleware.

I have to wonder if Havok is the problem here... they can't emulate cloth for cloaks without the entire engine crapping the bed, and the game is plagued with console style lag (despite the platform) especially after patches. One would think that a fully proprietary engine wouldn't have these issues or if they did could be upgraded because the code isn't fixed as say unreal or Crytek, but four years on and we are still here.

Not saying the game is doomed or sucks or any of that nonsense....but as a programmer myself I am really interested in the entomology of these issues, I know we're never going to know how the sausage was made, but my gut tells me it's a Havok issue.

Not sure if they actually use Havok’s physics module. They introduced experimental inverse kinematics for character legs (to stand more firmly on the ground) but I think it’s pretty much it.

Havok Script is more likely the reason you see that logo... Havok Script is the LUA implementation that drives the UI and the addons.

Also back in maybe 2015 I recall someone from ZOS tech people explaining the limitations of DX9 - they couldn’t have as many bones per character as they would have liked.

Obviously the game has since been upgraded to DX11 only and 64 bit only — I have a feeling that tech improvements are slowling coming, like the ones we just got about multithreading and character composition, more stuff offloaded to GPU...

    Just give them time.

There were also improvements at the server side — like optimizing the calculations around CP and passives.

These were all communicated, mentioned in live streams or on forum... I think they’re doing fine.

Crown Store gifting with the demand of reciprocity* of any kind, in any form, virtual or otherwise, is not permitted.
    * the practice of exchanging things with others for mutual benefit

That said, ZOS needs to observe the severity of abuse before including an official statement into the CSR script. They may not have to make an official statement if the abuse is on a level that they feel they have to terminate the gifting program and return to a manual customer support process.
