That freakin Bonecolossus should never show up, you need to kill the invokers, you cant allow them to summon.

Just wanna say thanks again for all the advice people wrote in this thread, it helped so much, my winning attempt was actually really smooth even though i couldn't stop shaking, but i didn't make any stupid mistakes! i got all the crystals down without dropping down, killed all the summoner adds asap, left some dots on boss, took defensive sigil and speed sigil when i was back down and got all ghosts... when i used spectral explosion the crem guard was near the boss so i dropped destro ulti and boooooom

BUT the key things i changed were caluurions legacy gear to julianos, crushing shock, using priasmatic glyph and harness magicka... all this helped a lot

I THINK 40% DEPENDS ON LUCK TOO!!! the aoe feels so random and is always where im standing, especially those annoying spikes and the ghosts that just happen to be floating towards you...

good to know i'm not the only one who can't complete it on a magsorc lol... I'm using necro, slimecraw and caluurion but i might switch out caluurions for julianos

If you switch to Julianos be sure to use Surge to increase your sustain. Crits heal like crazy if you have Surge on. I am also not sure what are the 'spikes' you are referring to? I don't remember any spikes in the last stage.

Grats Valkyrie! I think these threads are really helpful to a lot of people who read the forums but don't post. When you are struggling with vMA it is helpful to know many others have struggled, and triumphed, before you.

Lots of good advice here, especially concerning the timing of the Defensive Sigil and using shields.

I found it easier to not try to worry about getting all the crystals down in one trip. I used an Ulti either to burn Voriak down to 70 or to burn the Cremy Guard before going up. Then on the crystal level, burn crystals until Ulti is back and roll back down in to the lava, Ulti the Cremy, go back up and finish the third crystal pretty close to another full Ulti. You take a lot less Soul Churn damage and, more importantly, you are in more control at each stage.

Dang, VMA sounds hard. Here I am feeling like a badass for completing the normal version on my petsorc lmao. I'm only cp317 so I think it will be some time before I try vMA.

I always get hung up on round 7, with the argonian behemoth. rounds 8 and 9 were tricky for me as those are the only two rounds I didn't know the mechanics too, so I went in blind. Rounds 7-9 is where I start dying.

Gratz on completing! One thing I'll add for others reading the thread. After 45 minutes to an hour I'll sometimes get insta-killed by multiple attacks I never saw. Or, I'll dodge-roll out of the red, light attack and then die from the AoE I thought I'd dodged. It looks similar to what happens with high-ping, but can happen even when ping is okay (150 for me is good). On my PC, seeing this several times is a flag to shut the game down using the task manager or some other way outside the game and re-load it. If you force a quit without using the game menu and reload within a few minutes, you don't lose any progress. (It may be you can use the game menu and not lose progress; I haven't tried it.) I don't see this anywhere else in-game, but for some reason performance seems to degrade as more time is spent in VMA. Quitting the game and restarting helps a great deal.

Thanks everyone! i didn't really care about what I got in the chest as this was my first clear but I got a Maelstrom bow in precise which is totally useless to me on my main but I have an alt I could use it on for PvE so I golded it out anyway.

Well a bow is still best in slot for basically every stamina character... so its a good & worthwhile drop at least

The best advice I had/read for the last stage was

1) think of it as 3 parts, getting up, doing the crytals, and end fight.

2) daedroth (however spelled) hit like a truck. Do circles around them, youll avoid that heavy dot.

3) the boss pattern will start to become known and predictable.

4) I used the speed sigil to gather the spectres and then defense and power with an ult.

5)cyrstal stage, dont get to the shield by going in the same direction run against the grain to a shield.

Keep it up!!! You are there and it will come together! Seriously, you might bet held up, but soon getting upstairs is easier, the cyrstals become a joke and then the third phase

Grats! That boss took me three days to beat, it was one of the most frustrating things I ever played in a video game but was very rewarding (especially since I got the bow lol). Each time I run vMA it gets easier and easier.

When you ever decide to go back I highly recommend magBlade. Got a great build if you ever need it.

Bow isn't bad at all. I'm still chasing the destro but I enjoy my bow on every stamBuild I got. Wear your new title with pride and best of luck to ya

Also just to add something that made me getting consistent clears: avoid tunnel vision, grab speed and healing sigil when going up, grab defence and dmg sigil on last part.

I main a pet sorc. In case you care for the future, the best advice I can give you on the last boss is to save your ultimate, you should always have this by the time you destroy the 3 crystals up top.

If you are not going for a high score run, when you drop down after destroying the 3rd crystal, grab the defense sigil. This will reflect the bosses attacks back at him so you don't need to interrupt him. Concentrate on grabbing 3 gold ghosts. Once you grab your 3rd, go to the power sigil, stun the boss, grab the sigil, drop your destro ultimate on him and do your standard rotation a couple times. He should be dead. No need to worry about any of the ads if you have high enough DPS.

Eventually you will get to the point where the sigil are no longer necessary and you can just interrupt him and then burn him down in the same fashion.

As veteran (454 runs) i must say its pretty hard but it will get easier... I remember i was doing VMA for 2 days straight now its walk in the park... I want to say you need to know your class swap some skills on some bosses and have will, check some youtube videos for mechanics and it will be more easy to know the all timings... Also i recommend stam sorc which is best bet for VMA imo you can try also mag sorc people say its better or NB...

Careful with that crushing shock in the future, it's fantastic everywhere in vMA BUT the big lizard guy at the end of the poison round.

Gratz - very well done. Your vMA dues are now paid in full.

I've seen vMA literally break guildies will to fight - especially the last boss. So that's definitely (still) an achievement in this game - no matter what people say.

You asked for help, were prepared to make changes and then persist. Imo that's the key to beating the arena.

You'll find it a lot easier from here on - I'd back it up with some more runs to get the strats down 100% - and then farm for your lightning staff

Norm and Vet are VERY different. Ive made that underestimation before.

I got a bow on my first clear too. I didn’t have a stam alt that could use it, so I made one! It’s the best stam backbar in the game, so congrats on the good drop.
