Weird in-game-mail about a present by ZOS

The mail being in german was one of the things that I found really weird about it as well. And it was on the NA server (where I exclusively play these days, although I can't stop myself from getting my hirelings on EU ). I actually just checked the EU server and there's no such message there.

LOL about the Gordon Ramsay reference. Didn't know that one, but looked it up.

It may be that gifter was from the EU server, although not sure if that's possible, but it could explain why the email was in German

Did they ask you to provide your DOB, SSN, occupation, etc.?

It's an official mail guys... That's a system message. Just check your normal e-mail for the mail they sent you in your junk email and reply. They sent a few streamers and others a few gifts in the past few months. Eg glasses for beer etc.

@DoctorESO No, they didn't ask me to provide anything, just to answer to the mail I should have gotten.
@LMar It's a bit difficult to answer a mail I never got ;-) I always check my email and I re-checked it today until like 2 months back - nothing there, spamfolder or otherwise.

Well, I hope Gina will answer me soon to clear things up for good.

If it wasn't legit, why would the mail tell you to contact Gina on the forums?

It is real, i received the very same 24 hours ago, it advises you to check your email account that is registered to your ESO account, there are three questions on the email that you need to answer, Name, Address and Telephone, give the details and a few hours later you will receive a confirmation email from zos support advising you that the "special items" will be with you after the 13th of June..

Yeah, that sounds familiar. Though, again, in my case I was contacted directly on the boards first (it was also last year). I'm guessing that you're in Germany, which is why the message was in German, even though you're playing on an NA server. Probably also not on the boards that often, or they probably would have contacted you here.

I'm on XBOX-EU server tbh, there is no way on earth people can spoof an in game mail through console without going to very elaborate lengths, there is no such thing as 100% secure but console platform (in particular xbox) are pretty much bullet proof to this kind of thing.

I too was concerned about the mail at first but after i did a google of a line or two of the text it brought me to a post on these forums made in december of last year where someone received the same mail in regards to the "10 million stories event". Also I'm not the OP, i'm just another person who received the same mail via the in game mail system yesterday.

Kinda odd that the email tells you to PM Gina and then when you do, Gina does not respond.

It's the weekend. She's probably not going to be in the office again until tomorrow morning.

Gina let me know now that the mail was legit. :-)
However, she didn't let me know what the (irl) email was about, so I'm gonna have to wait for her to come back to me about that. At least now I know the in-game-mail was indeed from ZOS. Of course I don't expect to hear back from her today.
