Just two, DDO and LOTRO. I like to fantasize about having the power to cherrypick what I like out of all three and combining them to make my ultimate dream game.

Ultima, EQ, EQ2, D2, D3, Anarchy Online, Arcane Online, AC, AC2, CoH, DDO, GW, Horizons, Hellgate London, Lineage, Lineage II, Rift, Tera, BDO, Scarlet Blade, PW, FW, WF, WoW, Last Chaos, Shaiya, Vindictus, Rappelz, Crusaders, PoE etc...

Those are the ones I can slightly recall; seems like there are one or two missing from that list that I can distinctly remember certain events or bosses but don't exist in any of the above.

    Way way too many

I was a alpha tester and guide in EQ, beta tester in SWG.........and I have at least tried every MMO since 1998. ESO is the closest thing, I have been wanting in a MMO.

I would have gutted PVP, (Except in the case of vampirism and lycanthrophy they should be stupidly rare to get and full PVP and full loot once you do) worked on the AI quite a bit,(Gave NPC's routines and lives) allowed for the choice of public and instanced delves, and cut way back on the fantastical mounts.

Other than that it's the most fun I have had in a mmo yet.

A lot but didn't stick with many for a longer time. ESO ranks as the one I have stayed with second longest now.

Raganrok Online (private servers) was my into to the MMO world.
Dabbled with various games; FFXI, RF Online, DDO, Tree of Savior, Flyff, Ragnarok Online (official)
Spent a bit more investment in some; SWTOR & Guild Wars 1

I had a friend invite me to play Champions Online while I was beta testing ESO. That's the extent of my MMO experience other than a couple F2P browser based games which had guild systems and allowed you to send attacks at other players 24/7.

This is my first MMORPG. I avoided WoW because I thought it was like crack for nerds, but once the ESO thing happened, I HAD to play hehe. I left it for maybe a couple years because of the leveling system. I simply ran out of stuff at my level and got tired of dying.

My RPG history is Might n' Magic Clouds of Xeen, then Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim.

I'm spoiled with ESO. During downtime, I tried playing Skyrim again and was very "meh" about it.

I played too much of EQ, EQ2, Vanguard, Conan, Warhammer, LotRO, Secret World and SWtOR.

I tried but couldn't get into Ultima, Dark Age of Camelot, Arch Age, Blade and Soul, DDO, Neverwinter, and Mortal Online.

I am still playing LotRO and EQ2 and am trying to play Secret-World Legends.

started with WoW, played that one the longest - still come back to it from time to time.

in between that and ESO, I have also played Lotro, dungeons and dragons online, both guild wars (more so for 2 then 1 though if I'm perfectly honest), secret world (didn't get far there, eventually legends was released - finished the story there), swtor, a LOT of Neverwinter for a few months, tried star trek online, couldn't get into it, same with several super hero mmo's, SWTOR since its original early acess and for 5 years without breaks until I couldn't enjoy their current direction anymore but... it was my housing gateway drug if you will, played some wild star - enough to mess around with their housing system and learn to appreciate free form building options vs hooks. I have a feeling I'm forgetting something but then again, if i'm forgetting it, i probably didn't play it long enough. oh yeah! warhammer online and rift, though I would probably say I tried them rather then actualy played them.

if MMO-light shooters count, I'm also actively playing Division with my SO and occasionally hop into Destiny 2.

the only MMO's I haven't participated in group content but played for some time were LOTRO and wildstar. I was going to add GW2 to that list, but I did actualy join some formal world boss groups, so it depends on your definitions. haven't done any instanced 4 man things or new raids so there's that?

after playing WoW and nothing but wow for a few years, I realized that I just prefer to spread my attention between variety of games, so i never play just one thing. which btw is also indicative of just how badly bioware has been handing updates. becasue even while spreading my content consumption, I still ran out of things to do very quickly in their last few "expansions" edited to add... my god, how could i have forgotten Allods... was my first MMO after playing WoW and only WoW and first genuine step into playing multple games again. it was... interesting. but also very similar to Lotro in that eventually you hit the pay or grind severely gate.

but anyways, ESO is just another mmo in a long line of mmos I dabbled in. the only MMO whose combat came I found to be more frustrating rather then enjoyable, was original secret world and that was mainly becasue it had this old school thing where if you specced wrong early on, you had big BIG trouble getting through story without grinding to fix your unfortunate choices.

    In no spefic order, other than LOTRO probably being the first;

Lotro, Continent of the ninth seal(C9), Tera, Aura Kingdom, Riders of Icarus(When I was taking a break from ESO), Skyforge, Defiance(If that counts) and I believe there is one more that I've forgotten.

My first was Ultima Online, in about 1998. At the time (graphical) MMOs were a new concept so just the idea of sharing the world with other players was exciting. There was also much less hand-holding than modern MMOs - you had your character and a world to play it and it was up to you what you did, there was no overall story or quest chains to lead you through, just activities to do.

Unfortunately that type of game takes a lot of time, especially playing with other people. After a few years I found my life getting a lot busier and less routine and I just couldn't commit the time it needed, which made the subscription seem like a bit of a waste of money (especially as growing up meant I was more independent and had more options for how I spent my money). So I quit.

For a few years I thought MMOs just weren't for me. Then one day I saw my brother playing a game I didn't recognise. I asked him about it and he said it was called Guild Wars and it was an MMO which didn't need a subscription and told me a bit about the story, quests and missions and I got to see the charr (who were enemies in the first game) and I decided to give it a go. That got me back into MMOs and made me realise they'd moved on a lot from Ultima Online.

I bought Guild Wars 2 when it went up for pre-order and still play it regularly and I signed up for the betas for Elder Scrolls Online and obviously kept playing that (well, I didn't buy it until they dropped the sub because my life has only gotten busier and less predictable since I quit UO but I've been here ever since).

Those are the only ones I've really stuck with but I've tried several others. I briefly tried Runescape but found it far too grindy (even back in the early 2000s), tried a free trial of World of Warcraft but had a horrible experience which convinced me I'd made the right choice in not getting it, in spite of being a Warcraft RTS fan. I also tried Lord of the Rings Online and City of Heroes but didn't really get into them.
