Wait. So how do Undaunted Group Dungeons work?

I accepted Undaunted Pledge quests from those Undaunted NPCs in my Alliance capital, and they are sitting in my quest journal.

So how do I group up? Do I just travel to these dungeons and "wait" until a group shows up?

Is it my responsibility to communicate with my friends or guild members that I want to tackle one of these Undaunted quests, and I have to form the group on my own?

Or is by some other method, like using the Activity Finder?

Kinda confused.

You can complete them with the activity finder(queueing for whatever dungeon you need to complete) though the skill of the group will vary this way from experts who have run the dungeon a thousand times to people who have never done it before. Or you can group with friends or guildees to complete the daily pledges and travel directly to the dungeon in question.

Or 3rd option...you can do the dungeon without a group at all...this is significantly more difficult and many people are unable to do it...some dungeons are virtually impossible to do this way due to mechanics.

Press P to bring up the Group Window
Click "Dungeon Finder" on the side
    Dropdown -> Specific Dungeons
    Select the dungeon(s) you want
    Click Join Queue button

Don't forget to choose what role you are first: Tank, Heal or DPS

Alternatively, you can check the zone chat at the capital cities (Wayrest, Mournhold or Elden Root) and ask for a group there.

    Okay. Thanks joshiava and Tryxyus.

So it's almost like you don't have to speak to Undaunted NPCs at all then in order to activate these quests, since you can choose these Undaunted quests directly from the Activity/Dungeon Finder.

Is this more or less correct?

Nono, you still have to go to the Undaunted camps and pick up the pledges there. The Dungeon Finder simply helps you to form a group for specific dungeons, which is why you want to pick the ones from the pledge

you can do the dungeons without the quests, but the quests give extra rewards and undaunted xp for those specific dungeons. Most import rewards is the undaunted keys which you can use to open the three chests near the undaunted for monster shoulders.

Not quite. In order to get the pledge quests (for keys to unlock shoulder treasure boxes) speaking with Undaunted Enclave quest givers is a must. The dungeons themsleves have a quest and questgiver of their own.

If you just travel to the dungeon, you will be the only person there. Nobody will show up unless you invite them to a group.

If you are just starting with dungeons, the best way is to group with friends and take your time. There is a quest in each dungeon as well, which will award a skill point on completion, so that's another reason to do them.

Once you are familiar with group play and know how to perform your chosen role, you can use the Activity Finder to queue for the dungeon(s) you have pledges for. Just keep in mind that queueing for a specific dungeon may take some time, particularly as a DPS.

The Undaunted pledges change every day, and you can't share them with group members, so if you want to get them done quickly, you may need to abandon the ones you have and pick up the ones from that day as it will be easier to find a group.

Aww, this reminds me of the time just after launch when people used to hang out in front of dungeons and spontaneously form groups with random strangers. It was fun. :)

Use the dungeon finder (make sure you are on normal if you are doing them the first time) or ask in zone chat. Believe it or not but there are usully some nice players around who will take you on your first dungeon run. If you pick vet you might run into some very toxic players if you dont know what to do.
Had this 200cp guy last week who was standing next to the undaunted camp and he just picked up his first pledge. He was asking if there is anybody who can help him with it and since i had nothing else to do i joined and we did the dungeon together. So whatever your cp level is, just ask for help, someone usually is around to help you out.

Not sure if you are in a guild but guildmates are also great for this kind of stuff, especially if you run with the same group more often.

That's how I did Fungal Grotto the first time on my "healer" Nightblade. I don't know if the tank knew how to taunt at all. It was a lot of fun.

That was back when it was actually fun to play DPS.

    Nowadays, I just tank.
