Question a regular and collection edition?

I play on Xbox and am about to buy Summerset. My question is if i buy the digital upgrade regular edition now but decide a couple days later i want the collectors edition. Can i just upgrade to the collection edition by paying the difference in money from the regular to the collectors edition? Or would have have to buy Summerset all over again in the Collector's edition making me basically buy Summerset twice?
