Jewellry Crafting Inspiration Not Working

I must not be understanding this correctly because I expect other people aren't having this issue.

When I hand in a jewellry writ, its suppose to give me 6000 inspiration. But checking my jewellry crafting xp before and after handing the writ in, it stays the same as if the inspiration isn't being awarded. What am I missing here? I've not actually leveled a skill line since the inspiration mechanic was added so maybe I don't understand it correctly.

If your using a higher level intricate than where you are on JC it'll give less which I figured out never knew that, each tier has its own cap of xp

So say if you have a Cp 150-160 Intricate its best to save those for level 40+ of that skill to obtain the best amount of xp for it

    It's a bug.

Only pewter writs award JC inspiration, all others grant inspiration for enchanting.

Well I'm getting no exp at all, but thanks for the info.

This seems more like it. I'm on copper mats at the moment, about level 33 JC and not getting inspiration. So I guess I need to reset my skill points to go back to pewter writs.

    Are devs aware of this?

Lol, seems the intricate items are bugged as well. They don't appear to be giving more xp than non-intricate. Probably working as intended. Takes longer to level that way.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

He is talking about writs. Mentions nothing about decon which is what you are speaking to.

@f047ys3v3n you may be running into the cap on inspiration from deconstruction -- especially if you are a very low level crafter or deconning very high level gear. Check out Sunshine Daydream's Guide to Jewelry if you want more information on this (exact numbers in the section on leveling for example).
Is Uncle John's band calling you? Do you daydream about Sugar Magnolias? Is your favorite sunflower a China Cat? Tired of Truckin' alone to Terrapin Station? If so, share some Space with other hippies & deadheads in the guild Sunshine Daydream! Send a message in game (PC-NA) to Kaibeth for your invitation.

the grinding to get to level 50 jewelry crafting was the worst one I've gone through yet .... took 2 days ( would have taken more but i wanted it over with ) 9 hours straight dolmen farming Saturday and 4-5 hours Friday ... plus both days doing the jewelry crafting writ plus deconing roughly 10 intricate jewels ..... it was absolutely a ROUGH one .... did not notice the "6000" exp from doing the writs either

so just to confirm, if you do a crafting mission with copper or higher metal you won't get any inspiration when you turn in the mission?

Seems that way yes. I'm at 50 now but would have saved me a bit of time if the inspiration was working.

It was not near as bad as launch enchanting. Think same amount of effort for about a month rather than a few days. Also, nodes back then only had one glyph per node and it was a toss up to what type it was. This wasn't that bad in comparison.

Not quite: non-pewter Jewelry crafting writs somehow give Enchant skill inspiration instead of Jewelry. ZoS did too much cut and paste in their coding. ZoS has acknowledged the bug and will fix it "soon": https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/416590/jewelry-crafting-writs-doesnt-give-inspiration-bug-or-intended

Confirmed fixed (tested ok) in incremental patch 4.0.9 on June 11 (PC/NA). The patch for consoles may be another week or two.
