Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl - working or bugged?

I have Master Angler ... and have to say, I haven't seen a worthwhile increase in rare fish. Seems about the same for me. I'll do some stat work and report back.

I believe when they "fixed it" by removing the double drop, they made it not bring in rare fish at all.

Can I have a confrimation if this recipe works solo now? I just want to start doing the master angler thing with patience, so I dunno if this will help me solo or I have to bring another person

    Ty in advance

Also, is the food to be used ONLY when solo, as fishing with others would apply to same buff (call it Minor Angler) which won't stack? Very confusing @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

I used the new recipe and managed to get MA in a couple of weeks, fishing a few hours a day. AFAIK it made it a lot easier.

Any update on this? is this working?
History, like a human being, is thirsty when it wakes from its slumber…History wants to drink up an enormous amount of blood. And even if history has tired of drinking blood, that’s only in regards to the amount. But what about quality? The larger the sacrifice is, the more delighted the cruel gods will be.

It works, but not as it originally was (that was a bug). The food makes it so your fishing holes are like an extra person is there fishing with you. So you have better RNG at getting Green and Blue rare fish.

So, if you are fishing for achievements, use the food.
If you are fishing for white fish to potentially get Roe. don't use the food, since you can't fillet the "rare fish"

@Carbonised in the beginning it did increase the number of drops. However ZoS "fixed" it. What it does is gives you the same benefit of fishing with other people. Increasing your chance of get rare fish. It is still just one fish per cast though.

    ESO 4.0.7 Patch Notes
    General

Fixed an issue that caused the Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl to double the number of fish you receive under certain circumstances. The intended effect is that this food increases your chances to acquire rare fish, similar to the bonus that occurs when another player is fishing from the same fishing hole.

From what I´ve heard here is how you can make it work (got this tip from someone with several master anglers, not me that discovered this):

    * Remover your weapons from your character slots
    * Consumer the Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl
    * Re-equip your weapons

For whatever reason you´ve to consume the food while you don´t have your weapons slotted.

Allegedly that bug was fixed with Murkmire, at least according to patch notes.

In any case, the current iteration of the food is pretty much useless. I got all my Angler achievements just fine with out the food, and I'd rather spend a little more time getting them, while also getting some roes and some furnishings along the way.

Also, this topic is more than half a year old back when the food had other, unintended effects, so please let the topic die or create a new thread.

So the food is useless because YOU want to spend more time fishing? It sounds like the food is just the opposite of useless since it does exactly what it's suppose to do, make it easier to catch fish.

I've heard the same with the un-equip weapon bug, and personally I thought that made a difference. But like above, it sounds like it have been fixed with Murkmire. How would one know if the food works when the whole thing is RNG based? :D

Maybe if you stopped trolling you would see that the OP and following discussion contains a lot of outdated information since the recipes has been changed since then.

I like how you twice bumped this thread despite me clearly asking for it to be locked due to being necro-bumped and being outdated, seems like a clear attempt at trolling and being obtuse.

It's still easier to find all informations related to the same item in a single thread, no matter how old it is, than to waste a lot of time on digging for the same information in multiple threads. Here is all the history and explanation untill the bugs were fixed, and I like it that way because now I know things about the recipe I wasn't aware before. That's not a simple bumping thread, please stop asking mods for it to be locked. It's not you who decide btw.

I am certainly not going to stop asking mods to close one of my very own threads.

You must be new on the forums, mods close necro-posts all the time. Why? Because in this game things change fast, and information quickly becomes outdated. Starting a discussion based on outdated information is a quick way to confusion and false information. People don't read through an entire 4 page long discussion, they read the OP and perhaps the few first and last posts, and reading the OP and first few posts in this thread will certainly give you outdated and therefore false information about how the recipe works. That is why mods lock old topics and ask for you to create a more recent discussion.

I have put in a formal request to have this post locked due to it being outdated and having received a 3 month old necro revival by @Oberstein , and as everyone can clearly see, it didn't take more than a couple posts before @Maura_Neysa was confused by the 3 month old necro to an already 6 months old thread.

I will leave it up to the mods to react to my request, and this is going to be my final say in the matter, and in this post as a whole.
