Hi all,

Is this new? This is very annoying. Any way to turn it off? I guess this is because of the weapon enchant...

The glow is only if you use a montur style for this weapon, if u use the original skin of the weapon you don't see the enchant effect.

But thats a bad option, because the montur system is useless for weapons, so a turn off button would be nice.

Enchant effects were turned off by default when the outfit system came out. I'm not sure if it was a bug or by design. People complained that they wanted the glow back though, and now it's back. An option would be the best.

    Ah :(

It's like, they are complaining for stuff like this. And ZOS just turns it ON or OFF permanently. Why not make an option? Pff.

Visually speaking when it comes to seeing enchantments this is a double edged sword as others can see it as well and if they know what each enchantment looks like they can figure what enchantment is on your weapon without you having to link it. Through pvp it is a minor thing through most considerable amounts through pvp such as cyrodiil, imperial city or battlegrounds. But lets be honest... how many of us actually try to memorize the looks of all enchantments on weapons?

Half the times I can't even see enemy players until they pop in a few seconds later, never mind seeing their weapon or the enchantment on it

I wish someone would come out with a visible reference so we would know what enchantments offer what animation... especially animation colors. Thankfully the Weapon/Spell Damage enchant was red and matched my Magsorc's black/red color palette perfectly... others I can see how the enchant color would completely clash with their palette. So having a toggle would be very beneficial so everyone could be happy.

something similar to Warframe's energy colour system might work for that.

I like it. What is a real problem is the healing mage set constantly refreshing and making the same activation sound when you swap weapons or mount a horse or toggle your helm off and on or go through a door. It is really annoying.

I wish ESO would place different glow styles and particle effects as more items you can choose from for each item or item type under the outfitter.

    Hopefully someday...

Ye i like it.... that is why i ask if we can have an option to turn it of.....

The reason why i dislike it is cause nowhere in the game does it say that getting a skin/motif for a weapon, and then applying an enchantment to the weapon will make the dyes on the weapon not show at all. my question was if we could have an option to turn this of.

if it was only when the weapon is drawn i would be fine with it, then i even like it, but when it is forced upon you with a sheated weapon. that is where my next one came in "What is the point of the Dye/outfit system if this removes any customization that i make from showing.?"

    EDIT:
I should note that again this only happens if you use the outfit system, to dye your weapon.
if you use the base weapon (no outfit) it will not glow on your back or at your hip. thus it seems very strange why it does it when you use the outfit system.

"No Glow" mods are always highly popular in TES games. Weird that they'd choose to add a feature that's always been considered an annoyance in this series

If you're going to do enchant effects, do them well. Wrapper glows like this are hideous. Flaming weapons look awesome, and we KNOW this team can do them well. And since the outfit station exists, always make them optional.

It does! Thanks for the tip :)

That'll be 3rd deathrecap pro tip:
#1 You dont have repaircosts when u r naked.
#2 Losing aggro is the most efficient way to mitigate damage.
#3 if u don't recharge your enchant, the annyoing glow goes away.

yeah this has always bothered me, ZOS needs it to be an option. along with glowing effects from buffs/abilities on our characters. i hate seeing my werewolf glow strange colors ever time i use a howl/roar.

i can understand the visual ques argument for pvp, but not for pve.

I've made posts about this on the PTS forum. It's been like this since summerset, and it's unacceptable.

Go support the effort on the PTS forum, the more people who protest over ugly enchant glows, the more quickly they will find a solution for it.
