Amazon physical collectors edition

I emailed amazon as they say it will be delivered today but when you click it it says not dispatched. They said;

"I'm sorry for the delay in dispatching your ''Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset Collectors Edition (PC DVD)'' from the order #XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

From your e-mail, I completely understand that you ordered this above DVD in April due to arrive today but it hasn't dispatched yet and you need to know when this will arrive and you need a good will gesture for the inconvenience for this.

I've done further checking and can see that the availability of this item "Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset Collectors Edition (PC DVD)" in our website and can see that it is currently listed as "Temporarily out of stock, order now and we'll deliver when available ".

When an item is listed as "Temporarily out of stock, order now and we'll deliver when available" this means the supplier from whom we source the items needs this much time frame to supply the stock of the items to us.

The same happened with the nordic retailer CDON.COM.. and I even pre-ordered on the very day they annouanced the Summerset Chapter.

I find it ironic that those of us who're super fans of this game that we love to play, are getting screwed over because the retailers don't get the copies on time. At least that is CDON's excuse, they literally claim that they haven't received a single box from Zenimax.

No box, no codes, no nothing.. Sad launch day =/

I believe its a bit more widespread than just that.

I called my retailer to ask why they (and yes, I'm being 100% serious here) cancelled my preorder of Summerset CE just this very morning, and the kind lady told me in frustration that they simply hadn't received any CE boxes at all.

No, Amazon US has problems as well. I ordered on March 30th and received a delay notification this morning. On the 18th, everything looked fine...

I got an email from Amazon with my redemption code for the Queens bounty pack this morning and yesterday an email that my physical collectors had been shipped. Currently out for delivery. I wonder if it matters when you ordered it? I placed my order the day the preorder went live. Not sure if that would make a difference. Sucks for all you who preordered it won't be getting it right away. You'd think after all these years Zenimax would have gotten it's act together. Maybe they weren't expecting such a huge number of preorders?

I ordered the day it was available from Amazon, and it's 'out for delivery', hoping it will be here shortly. I got a code from Amazon yesterday but it was just for the pre-order bonuses, NOT a key to play on release.

I remember when ESO came out I ordered the CE from Amazon and it wasn't delivered until Wednesday evening. BUT they let us all play anyways for a week.

Maybe check Gamestop or Walmart to see if they have any on their shelves, and cancel your pre-order?

Mine (from Amazon) says "Out for Delivery" and the United States Postal Service says it will be delivered before 8pm. Now I just have to hope a porch pirate doesn't steal it before I can get it inside.

Amazon say's "Received by 8PM, but pkg tracker says it hasn't even shipped.
Oh well. Guess I took the day off for nothing...

Got an email from Amazon (US) today saying "your order has been delayed" and "we don't know when it'll be back in stock."

When I called, they explained that when I placed the order on March 29, I was only put in a queue, despite getting a confirmation email with guaranteed release date delivery. Amazon's product page didn't reflect the "sold out" status until last week. That's nearly two months' worth of pre-orders that they took without letting customers know they were in a queue in case someone cancelled rather than guaranteed an item that they promised.

At this point the earliest I can get the physical copy is the end of the week. I suppose I'm lucky there are even copies available. This is a major miscalculation on Amazon's part, and I won't be ordering these things again if I'm going to have my order cancelled the day of delivery. I'll stick with the digital edition, which is immediate, (actually) guaranteed, and half the cost.

ZOS, you need to inform Amazon that what they're doing is losing you business and customers.

I don't understand why they didn't do what they did with Morrowind. Unlock peoples account when they sent proof they purchased, and then you had a few days to enter the code once the physical copy arrived (or you lost your unlock)

I'm guessing they didn't want what happened with morrowind where a bunch of people preordered from amazon, unlocked early acess complete with early acess goodies, and then promptly canceled their preorders, which created a LOT of unnecessary work trying to unravel who should or should not keep acess, goodies, etc.

Yep, seems Zenimax screwed sellers. Amazon US says they won't receive any more until "July 5th" (could be a typo of June).

Just FYI, Amazon US told me an hour ago they were sold out and had no way of getting more. The Amazon rep said nothing about Zeni underdelivering; she admitted that they kept taking orders for two months after they'd effectively sold out. So on top of being incompetent, it looks like they can't even be consistent in giving answers.

So, if you've preordered from Amazon and the staus is "Delayed", you haven't actually paid for it yet. You don't pay until it ships, which leaves tons of people in limbo: unable to get a code to play the game they preordered because they haven't paid (understandable), unsure if Amazon is ever going to have copies to fulfill their order, and reluctant to cancel that order and purchase elsewhere, lest they lose their preorder bonuses.

How is this ok? Zeni - you HAVE TO do better than this. Either the suppliers need to know precisely how many copies they can sell and need to be held to not overselling, or Physical CE's need to be ordered and shipped through Zeni/Bethesda exclusively. People that preorder shouldn't find out on release day that their order can't be fullfilled. That you would allow this to happen to your customers in unconscionable.

Why are you blaming Zos for Amazon's screwup ?

I ordered thru Amazon ONCE..a wow expansion. Day of delivery got an email.."delayed". Gamestop had copies so I promptly cancelled my order and went to GameStop and bought the game.

I learned my lesson. Amazon seems to just take orders non stop without having any clue as to how many copies they will actually get to ship to customers.

Business doesn't work that way my friend. Zos tells Amazon how many copies they will get because Amazon isn't the only retailer.
