So we finally got confirmation on what constitutes a master crafter and it is not 9 trait...

I am hoping the Skyforge Hammer outfit will add to the collections and not be exclusive to your grand master crafter, considering my main crafting character is a mage (the title will be more than enough for them whereas I'd like a toon to get to use the hammer.)

Once unlocked you can use the hammer on all of your characters.

As any achievement, it will be character based. So you will get the credit for that character but not for anyone else.

that's fine, although I do have 15 diff players, all are level 50 crafters, but only the one has all of the motif's, so i'm fine with only that one getting the master crafter thing. tks

Infected Flesh and Dragon Bone are the style mats. Those are the Fang Lair and Scalecaller motifs. Additionally, there's going to be rare variants of both of those motifs which you earn through Battlegrounds. So, instead of 2, it's 4 motifs. There's also the new Maomer motif, which will be accessible through fishing at some point. So, that's 64 total, once Summerset drops.

The battleground variants aren't crafting motifs, they're outfit styles.
They work like the prisoner clothes we can already get on the live servers: you can use them in one of your outfit slots but you can't craft any gear in that style.

The skyforge hammer and the new monster set weapons are also outfit styles.

What exactly constitutes a "Master-Crafter" in regards to improving chances of receiving master-writs?
I understand that 9/9 traits research and/or all 14/14 pages of many motif books learned supposedly increases your chances of receiving a master-writ (but does not effect the quality/amount of vouchers on the master-writ itself?)

For example, does learning the traits on Alchemy and Enchanting materials increase the chances of receiving master writs from any source (such as blacksmithing, clothing, and woodworking), or does discovering those ingredients only effect chances of receiving master-writs for alchemy/enchanting crafting writs themselves.

TL;DR: Are master-writ chances based on universal progress among all crafts or sectioned off and dependent upon progress with each craft?

The only achievement title I have that I am proud of, and have been wearing since I have it, is tamriel hero.
As it is now, I am a master crafter (all traits, know all styles) and I am more proud of being a master crafter than solo questing (as a tank) getting all skyshard, all location ect.

Well that isn't true, all chars can use the motifs in the outfit system, and all chars can use the dyes you have unlocked.

The first grind towards becoming a master crafter to level 50 is not quite as much as getting all traits researched and becoming a trait master, but I can def say getting all motifs learned is by far the worst grind of it all.

I will admit I think they had to resay what a master crafter was because so many people were mistaken on what was a master crafter, being a trait master doesn't make you a master crafter... only level 50 does.

Show me one, I can’t find any. As far as my knowledge goes, smith hammers are used with one hand because the other one holds either the metal or the tongs. A two-handed hammer would be impractical and destroy the purpose in this case, since the metal would just fly away, also you couldn’t land precise hits.

I can go by knowledge a friend told me that they are not often used and only for certain tasks. Don't recollect on what but I believe he said there are other tools that are more traditionally used instead because to be honest automation is by far the easier of it all.

At least it won't be hard for that one  You will likely get alchemy one done in a day, if not within the hour.

Are they really adding the 2 new reagents to the alchemy achievement, since many have already earned that achievement. Is it somehow going to be un-achieved and we have to achieve it again by learning the 2 new reagents? Or is there another achieve for those 2 that I'm missing.

Also, you'll need to get to level 50 in JC as well, so that's two new ones.

A two-handed hammer would be used when two smiths are co-operating on a heavy job. The first smith indicates where to hit with his one-handed hammer, and then the big one does the work by hitting the same place.

And for jobs even larger, there's actually a trip-hammer in the game - Orcish, if I recall correctly.

a master crafter has to have 9 trait and everything done absolutely everything. otherwise your not a master crafter.

a master crafter has to have 9 trait and everything done absolutely everything. otherwise your not a master crafter.

Check your achievements again... it says ONLY level 50.

    Evidence is as followed
    http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Master_Alchemist
    http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Master_Blacksmith
    http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Master_Clothier

    http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Master_Woodworker
    http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Master_Jewelry_Crafter

None of which states anything about traits being learned as a requirement for being a master crafter... only rank 50.
Believe me or not the game states this and the game is the only one that has clear indications of what a master crafter is, versus what players keep changing up here and there of what a master crafter is. Hence the evidence I stated is the true master crafter.

Again I am actually showing evidence of what a master crafter is versus heresy.
