What is a good thing to spend crowns on

I have recently returned to ESO. I infact purchased the Summerset Expansion which also includes Morrowind to go with my original ESO. I am subscribed to ESO+. I however have 6000 crowns. Just wondering since there is no reason for me to buy DLC content what would be good things to purchase.

Useful stuff: housing storage, riding lessons, bank space
    Fun stuff: costumes and mounts

IMO, crown crates are waste of money.

If you don't already have access to any race any faction, I highly recommend buying the Adventurer Pack. This is the only way to make a Khajiit in Ebonheart Pact faction, for example, or High Elf in Daggerfall Covenant, etc.

Thank you for the advice. I already had that from the last time I came back to the game last year. It must have been part of a deal to return to the game or something or possibly I spent crowns on it ..can't remember. This is infact the 3rd time I have started playing the game. Looking forward to it however. Didn't leave because I was not enjoying the game.

For me, banker. He's already paid for himself from the number of times I've been in a dungeon and got the dreaded "Inventory full" message. Banker allows me to throw all my green/blue/purple gear in the bank for decon without having to go back to town. I wouldn't mess with the fence though, that 30% "tax" is brutal.

Disappoints me there’s nothing really worthwhile in the store to purchase. Guess the crowns will keep stacking.

Don't buy crown crates unless there's literally nothing else you want or could want in the near future.

The odds are heavily stacked against you.

You will more than likely be very disappointed and left with a pile of consumables.

Well, you could always buy all the DLC, max out the last couple ranks of your bank (or add a couple character slots for "mules"), and stop subscribing.

I thoroughly enjoy the game. That doesn’t mean I find the crown store items appealing.

That's a bit of a leap. "Nothing in the store to purchase" =/= "nothing in the game interests me".

As a subscriber as well, I often feel the same way. There is little worthwhile to spend crowns on aside from more character slots. I have imperial edition and adventure pack. I don't want to spend 4 months sub crowns on a handicapped banker or merchant. Same goes for research scrolls. And I will not buy into crates or the insanely overpriced housing/outfit slots. So that leaves the few costumes/pets/mounts that are released outside of crates and lately I haven't been interested in the themes.

That said, I quite like the game itself. I like questing, even doing same quests on different characters for different choices. I like exploring and farming mats to enjoy the scenery. I like fishing. I just don't like most of the offerings in the crown store.

TLDR: you can like the game without liking the store content.

If you're subscribing every now and then (not a "permanent subscriber") you should buy DLCs. From my experience, the DLCs from must own to good to own:
    1. Orsinium, it has tons of story content and Maelstrom Arena
    2. Imperial City, a PvPvE content + 2 dungeons
    3. Clockwork City, Asylum Sanctorium (don't remember the name) mini-trial, a small amount of story content and a easy access to transmute station.
    4. Thieves guild, Maw of Lorkhaj trial and a small amount of story content.
    5. Dark Brotherhood, small amount of story content.
    6. SotH, DrB, HotR dungeon packs, they only include 2 more dungeons per DLC

Also, I personally have a rule: do not buy something with crowns what you can buy with gold. So no consumables, no character upgrades (bank space, mount upgrades, werewolf/vampirism etc.), motifs. The crown store consumables are almost the same what you can craft yourself and most of the motifs are cheap in gold. You can get werewolf/vampirism for free in-game.

Cosmetics are fancy and something nice to have to spoil your self. Do ask yourself "will I ever use this on my character" before buying tho and remeber to preview them on your character before buying.

And finally, the merchant and banker are really useful, but they cost a lot. If you have crowns to spare, you should buy them. Merchant cuts your farming time by alot and it helps your groupmates in group content, same as the banker. You can use them as NPCs in your house.

I hear alot of players complain about the merchant not being able to repair gear. If that's the issue, and you have the banker or are planning to get him, I found a neat little work around so I can sell my excess to the merchant in dungeons or gold farming and still get my gear repaired.
I just keep repair kits in my bank. So, if I'm farming, or running a dungeon or trial and my gear breaks, I can just whip out my banker and I'm good to go.
Not the best solution, but it's worth it if you're out doing something and really don't want to go back to town just for repairs.
    Couldn't live without either one.

I would skip the Crown Crates. Still sickens that the only way to get some items is a RNG with your wallet.

I never buy anything i can earn in the game or buy with gold.

Cosmetic items are always what i buy. Mounts, Pets, Furniture, Outfits, Polymorphs, Houses.

And i like to save my monthly crowns and wait for a limited time one that i really love. TALKIN BOUT YOU GHOST HORSE!!

"Crown store only" things that I find useful:

    Banker
    Merchant
Mundus stones for the big house ( I have 2 so far )

    . . . . . . .

    Cosmetics can be fun.

    IMHO Character Slots.
6k crowns means 4 new characters, which means from 240 inventory slots to 800 when all fully upgraded.
Even with the crafting bag you will need inventory space and the storage coffers can be purchased in-game for vouchers, are more expensive crown wise and don't hold nearly as many items.
Plus it's just fun to make new chars :p

    1. The first choice is additional characters slots. This game is very favorable to those who have a lot of alts. The more alts you have, the better rewards you will get at different kinds of activities.
    2. The second choice is DLCs like Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood, but those won't have discounts in the near future (maybe in a year) because they had anniversary events recently
    3. The Banker. Really useful guy if somewhat buggy. Then Merchant which is less usefull...
    4. After this it all depends on your personal taste. I would suggest buying anything you can't get ingame. For me, it is some furniture packs that appealed to my sense of aesthetics
