Torch item

We have the /torch emote, but as soon as you move your character it ends. I suggest adding an item similar to the broom weapon except its a one-handed torch.

The torch would be great for role playing & for decorating dark areas of our houses. It could even be used as a source of fire damage against a troll.

Making it a one handed weapon would allow people to put it in their offhand and still wield a good weapon in their main hand.

In skyrim I loved exploring with a torch in my offhand, I was disappointed when I found out it was just an emote in ESO, and 4 years later I still wish I could run around swinging a torch like a madman. Make it happen ZOS!

Would love this. I play with darker shadows using Reshade, so it would be nice to have a torch for particularly dark situations.

While it's not a torch, Almalexia's enchanted lantern provides good lighting, it's even helpful in a couple quests. It's a memento, pretty sure it's from doing a quest in mournhold. I always make sure to stick it in my quickslots.

Or maybe a new category of items, let's call them vanity items that will have special slots separated from gear. A torch that you can walk with will be great, same as a fishing rod that you'll support on the shoulder while walking to the next fishing spot, or a backpack for your travels.

Those can be some rewards for completing certain achievements or other content. You get a torch from Lightbringer achievement, a fishing rod by catching all rare fishes in a zone, or become the master angler in a faction, a backpack for maxing out your inventory slots, a bottle of mead from This one is on me! you get the idea.

yes please make torches , even disposable ones you can buy a bunch at once or something

Been asking since day one . We know the walking animation is possible with torch because NPCs can .

why not have more great posts about it? the more posts the more attention it gets from the devs

You use to be able to. Before they added the current animation transition system, around theives guild, you could even mix emotes, all while walking. Then it changed to emotes being cancelled once you moved.

It would be great. They would probably need a monetization suggestion however, to actually make it a bigger priority for them.

Therefore I can imagine this idea as a new Crown Store personality.

Possible Names: Spelunker, Explorer, Adventurer, Delve Diver, etc...
Altered Animations: Player idle, walking, jogging, crouching, sneaking - all incorporating a held torch
Altered Emotes: /torch (obviously), /beckon, /surprised, idle 1,2,3 whatever other adventure emotes they want to add/change
Cost: Depends on the quality and if the personality is mostly just a standing idle/walking change, or an expansive idle/emote change . Either 500 crowns like the Scholar personality or 1000 crowns like a few others. 1200 (Drunk, Thief) or 1500 (Zombie) Crowns would be too much for such a personality in my opinion.

Maybe then it could actually become a reality.

I wish this was a toggle. One of the best things in the game.

Yea, good idea, like dark souls, you had to actually slot torch in one hand in order to navigate through dungeons that are built pitch black. It adds the mystery and surprise effect, it’s fun. The dungeon in game in general is too dark in my opinion too.

I fondly remember using torches in older ES games, blocking and burning enemies with them....just remember to put that LIT TORCH in your back pack if you are about to swim underwater.....

I would really like a flashlight/torch/magelight because there are a bunch of places that are just really dark particularly at night

I mentioned making it like the broom, which was a crown store item. I'll throw my money at the screen all day long for something this useful. #Pay2Win
