thanks you so much for sharing...we are all truly blessed to have such an inclusive community here...
for most of my life i never had a good understanding of where i might fit in best...
no doubt eso, and, our eso forums community helped a great deal...i love gaming, have my whole life - it's great to communicate with others whom share a similar passion...
as far as work - man, i would have loved to have been a voice actor - and, goodness knows with the growth of the gaming industry - voice acting has many more opportunities than ever before...
i'm at the back end of my employment life - hopefully in another decade or so - i can stop going to the office and focus more on what to do with my "free" time
for those folks whom have been able to combine their passion (like voice acting) with their profession - they are truly fortunate...
i enjoy what i do, really like the folks whom i work with - but, work is mostly just a means to pay the bills...
hopefully there's a way you can dig around the zenimax website to see what opportunities there may be to get your voice in to eso...
this is one of my most favorite books of all time:
The Year End Leftovers at the Piddleton "Last Chance" Dog Pound
the author, berkeley breathed wrote it in support of all those poor animals living in dog pounds...i always saw it though more as an allegory for all us humans - simply trying to make our way...as flawed as we all are

@Serjustin19 I'm by no means an expert but, Bcakstage has a great article on breaking into Voice Acting here, You may also want to look into joining SAG-AFTRA as nearly all voice acting jobs are through the union, especially in video games.
Anyway hope this helps and good luck.
There is a very interesting documentary on voice acting titled, "I Know That Voice". I believe it's on Netflix. If you haven't seen it yet it does provide some insight on different aspects of voice acting, including video games. Here is a link to the trailer.

* Go try ESO on console for more voice in game.
* Karoke bar sounds apporiate
If you are interested in voice acting then you would have be able pretend to have different voices. Google different acents
I don't see a talent for writing here. It's not focused enough. The story telling is nice, bit the flow was off. It could of been delivered with more impact and direction towards future. I would of ended with a declaration that you want the job.
But if you truly wish this then practice every single day, accept failures and criticism you might really need to learn not to mumble. Have the desire and grit for success.
Now if it doesn't work out then assuming voice acting is your passion then keep doing it. You work on a farm then give voices and to things not being heard. Hmm maybe maybe this into a YouTube series or story if you want. There's definitely a demand for it as current culture trends seek to embrace nature along saying things repressed by society standards. You could use animals as a media for people. Well if nothing else try to fit your passion into life as is not what could be
Hmm,
One more thing, it occurred to me how you can apply for the job in future. Assuming you really want voice acting then get on next pts cycle and do voice overs for quests without them yet.
In between then start a YouTube or some video streaming place with voice overs of lorebooks.
If zos doesn't work out try indie games. First practice on stories without voice. The really narrative ones but can't afford voice. Also compare yourself to other voice actors. As yourself why it sounds like x, or how they did that. Now you are at novice step then build profolio by some means. Offer free or reduced services for some green light pieces on steam or some other place holding indie games.
Well if this works out don't forget who gave advice

You can really do a lot of things, more than you imagine; if not everything you want. I have no idea yet what I'm doing with my life, but that's part of the fun, seeing where life takes you. I thought I was done with school and was going to get a job in graphic design, maybe the art department in a videogame dev studio. Turns out I'm going for my teaching license and working in schools (and I love it). The important thing is to take life as you've had it so far - don't regret it 'cuz you can't change it - and just make sure you keep on moving forward, working for something, and don't worry when it doesn't come out all according to plan.
For my part, I've found that you just have to let go of worrying about what you need and what has to happen (so long as you have a stable place to live and food to eat), and just try stuff. It's hard (for me in a lot of ways too), but put yourself out there. You don't have to change who you are, just don't worry about what will happen. Try doing a fun voice in voice chat in ESO, try getting in contact with the audio department of a game studio and asking how you can get involved (kind of like what you did here), try practicing singing - everywhere. Any vocal "problems" might even be able to be incorporated into your style. It makes you unique. There will be criticism, setbacks, and hardships, but that's the same with anything. You do you, and you'll find that eventually you'll be surrounded by people who like you for you, and you can do you without worrying about if people like you for you (if that makes any sense at all). You just gotta take the first step.
Honestly, it sounds like there's a lot of stress here, and I know it's... rough, to say the least, sometimes (I won't take your time with my life story, but life is rough for a lot of us out there. I can guarantee that no matter what you're going through you're not alone). But at the risk of sounding like a motivational poster, hang in there. You can do it. I believe in you. If you don't give up, eventually you'll get somewhere.
And if you're ever on xbox, give me your best voice and I'll share my terrible Khajiit voice.
Thank you for sharing so much!
At first I felt that you were not sure what you wanted to do, but by the end of your post, it does seem you are set on doing voice acting AND fire fighting.
In terms of voice acting, I think it depends on what kind of voice acting you want to go with. If you enjoy playing a character, then you will naturally change your voice to match that person or creature etc personality. The mumble might be part of it, or maybe you would naturally reduce mumbling if you feel that this character wouldn't talk that way. Afterall, it is actingSo that is part of the fun, trying out different things.
If however you don't want to change your voice personality to a character that is too different from how you talk, then you would have to look for things like @Tasear said, try to find youtube channels or indie companies that need voice actors for their projects, like stories or comics, or web series, ones where they might have a character that you would love to do the voice for, or they are at the start of the project and can make a character just for you!It would be awesome if there was an opening to do some voice work in ESO for you, just keep your eyes open and maybe send an email showing interest in doing this for them?
Now this might be slightly out of context for you, but one of the game series I hold most dear has the most amazing voice actors. It is the Legacy of Kain series. In this clip here you see them being silly in outtakes, joking around and trying out different voices. The characters they play in the games are very serious though. So its nice to see them playing around with their voices.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgnLO7iJZaA
In this video you seem them in character and properly acting out their scenes, not saying to watch all of this or any of it really, but if you are interested, just click through to see a few moments.

They do great work with their characters, and they wouldn't be the same without these actors, so it just goes to show how important voice acting is, but also how versatile. Michael Bell plays Raziel in the series, with an amazing voice that is close to his normal talking voice. However, he also plays other side characters with completely different voices, more monstrous and guttural. He has also played things like the boss "The Fear" from Metal Gear Solid 3, which is a big contrast to Raziel!
On the subject of fear of talking on mic: I understand this. I am female and have a very deep voice that I am very self conscious of. This has stopped me talking to people in games and even in real life calls because of the anxiety. I am more happy to talk to people in person. But anyway, that's a personal issue of mine. But what I have done is try to remind myself that people in general do not care what you sound like. I have to tell myself that its ok to talk to my guildies etc, we are just having fun, playing the game, there is nothing to be afraid of. You have to try to relax and forget how you think you sound
And finally on the subject of fire fighting, just don't let anything stop you if that's what you want to do! I don't know much at all about it, but I do not think your voice would be an issue to become a fire fighterJust find out what you need to learn and what steps you need to take in the place you live or will live, and start towards that path!
It's about showing initiative, and desire is what I meant by YouTube series on lorebooks. There's text from lorebooks already in various places on web so you just you could add voices. Fall under educational clause and maybe make a blog on I want to be a voice actor. American culture likes these kind of moves that show you aspiring to.live your dream. It also gives you a chance to hear people's thoughts on the matter.
.......
You should also focus on one goal at time unless you can somehow mix the two. I personally see aptitude for voice acting but not so much writing or firefighter.
Ideally you should going into creative yet social ascepts for future developments. Something you can to express emotions in creative forms.
There's many ascepts to writing. It's not simply telling stories. It's strength of words that bring attachment and some feelings in the after taste. So each word, each paragraph, each page will have to.live up to that. So yes, I don't see it.
I think it's good to hear thoughts so.let me go on. You didn't sort the context of your thread, some things are long winded. Your not careful enough.
It's is my thoughts you get praise because how well you express yourself in words. This makes me conclud that your interest in voice acting is well founded.
Jumping a bit around, but for fire fighting it does not seem like you like it. What I see I your writing the wish for meaning and purpose. The ideal of saving people is one of most addictive lures to reach for, but you don't have such desires. The way you write tells you don't want to risk your life. Along those lines you also desire respect so you picked zos as your medium to express your future.
Well, I listened to your story so maybe you aren't such a bad writier as I am quite picky on stories I like. Your tale is an interesting one, but you must not dwindle in writing the next page.
~ best of luck in your travels in tamerial and life.
I mean if I was you...I would look at the credits to them game. There has be a name or names there. You could potentially find such a name and ask them on forums or linkden.
Plan b would be simply find some voice actors to ask some questions to. Ask the important questions of why voice acting and how to get into field?
Also did you practice yesterday? Has the cow or flowers have dialogue? If not make up for yesterday and practice now. I would assume first step is reading text without losing your breath. But yes no excuses, you made up your mind so set up action plan for your future.

Got another question I have and many thanks in advance.
I know I'm supposed to practice right now. It's just what if I actually got blessing to move out next year. (hopefully) It's just I can't afford renting houses. Especially if I had a room mate? Unsure how it's different than apartment though. But I can only afford apartment. I read good chance there be no WiFi and no Internet. I read that everyone can hear everyone. My question is I will need many years of practice right? How could I practice, in an apartment? What hrs (United States) would be best if I not working and no one asleep? I mean I can practice where I currently at. But moving in apartment, wouldn't it make practicing more hard? Many thanks to

Good thing I thought to check up, my apologies this tag got lost in like 50 I been getting daily. Darn do I talk a lot..or maybe I just start some interesting conversations. Definitely nice to hear people's different thoughts. So onwards to more talking.
You can actually make some what of a sound proof room with eggshell cartons. You can put a mattress up on the bedroom door. There's some other methods, but people had this issue before. Only good thing about 7.6 billion people in world. Someone already been there.
Anyways, not just at home, practice everywhere. You just be that wierdo talking to yourself... it's cool. Use the world as your studio. Also listen to people too, understand how people talk. You shall be a stalker of voices.
In regards to uploading, there's plenty of public WiFi access these days from coffee shops to libraries. On that note you can reserve a study room in a library too.
I say though once you get some sort of foundation then try find work at bottom rung and start moving up. I do say one thing though... success is hard but there's no better place to crave success then here. It's simply a matter of will and creativity. So don't miss a day, don't miss the moment and one day maybe we will be hearing your voice on one of our quests.
