Flame reach and Knockback

Has this been nerfed ? Anytime I try to knock someone off a tower/keep/bridge while being directly behind them the just fall UP in the air, they dont go flying off

So can I no longer Flame Reach and Mages Wrath people off things now ?

    It's persisted into summerset as well. Dizzying swing does the same thing. Leap and javelin are working though.

    just tested it in cyro, doesnt push guards OR players off of things anymore.

    it has been changed to work differently. you also dont fall through the grid on keeps anymore. i believe it came with the last update

    it has been changed to work differently. you also dont fall through the grid on keeps anymore. i believe it came with the last update

    well it was a bug, you're not supposed too fall through objects which are supposed to have collision boxes...

    As for knocking them off a wall too the ground (without attempting too glitch them through the grates above the inner doors) it still works on a regular basis as its being spammed in vivec to no end all the time by any mag based character barring bombblades who have no use for it.

    nope. they go up into the air rather than backwards if it would have thrown them off.

    huh, possibly a bug with those outposts then.

    I will admit however I would not be sad too see it go even if it doesnt make sense gravity wise. Being knocked off the top of a keep is just frustrating especially when it requires almost 0 effort on the part of the caster and usually means certain death unless you're extremely lucky and get the no fall damage bug.

    In a related off topic..

    I often get stuck in the CC from flame reach and dizzy swing. I wonder if this condition you mentioned can cause it. I also think getting knocked back through doors and over textures can cause you to get stuck.

    Getting stuck in these CC's seemed to come at the same time as not being able to knock people off of things.

    Not being able to knock players off walls is a painful kick in the game's fun factor...

    Sadly, this seems to be the modus operandi of ZoS. Dynamic Ulti gen removed, nerfed several class-defining skills like chains to hell because they could pull defenders from walls (awesome mechanic against careless people), Sun Shield was an exceptional "anti-tool tool", several gap-closers were also gutted because they could bypass keep walls.

    Moving an inch towards "Balance", which is unachievable in a game like ESO, at the expense of fun. Sad panda.

    I guess for some people broken and/or overpowered things are fun. These people just can’t muster enough empathy for the receiving end.

    It's not about abusing what is perceived to be a "broken", or "overpowered" mechanic. It's about tactical dimensions, "creative space" for pvp enthusiasts, if you will.

    Right now, there are much fewer ways to break an established rhythm of a battle in Cyrodiil than we had in Vanilla.

    Knocking careless defenders off walls, oil-bombing a bored crowd, breaking superior (if stupid) numbers with a character built to be a "wrecking ball".

    An observant "lonewolf" without max VR or specific sets of gear could break the tide with a single siege weapon, or a character mechanic that denied the enemy their advantage.

    PvP used to feel more alive because there were more peaks and valleys in terms of tactics and skills that hard-countered specific behaviours. It was in no way perfect in terms of what is often called "fairness", but homogenization, "mediocritization" and the murder of class identity is much worse in the long run.

    entire skill is mighty stupid. You go with some plebs to get master staff and spam this bs 24/7 in PvP for win. For what it does, its ultra cheap.

      I can confirm that this does not work anymore and is definitely NOT intended.

      I used to be able to knock people off who stand near the edge of the keep platforms. Not anymore. Flame reach is meant to KNOCK BACK, so in opposite direction of the projectile hitting them.

      I really hope this will get fixed soon, because you can still knock people off with a javelin! Either give javelin the same treatment or fix it! It was a great way to protect people from oils and other skills being spammed from the platforms.

      Can we get an official response from ZOS, please? (Sorry I don't know how to tag Gina :neutral: )
