How do you know if its Vet or Normal Maelstrom?

OK I started Maelstrom and it seems kind of easy so I'm suspecting I'm in normal mode or something. I only did the first three scenarios and want to verify I am in Vet mode to get the weapon at the end.
So how do you know if you are in vet mode and if you are in normal mode how do you change it to vet?
