    "true elite gear"

    What do you mean?

they talk about it on eso live, am not sure if it is on pts. but they said there will be a better version of gold gear that are superior to normal drop, that can only be acquire through veteran hard trial.. i don't have any further detail on this.. if you are interest you might want to check out the eso live past episode

The last episode I see on Twitch is from April 13th and I don't remember them mentioning anything about "elite gear". I think you're confusing this "elite gear" wirh the perfected gear that drops from all new trials now (and has since AS last year).

What grind? Most current players do not know what a real grind is.

I reached VR16, VR14, VR11 and VR10 on different characters before CP took over, there are grinds.
I completed Cadwells silver and gold (completing all 3 alliance quest lines on one character) before 1T was invented, there was a grind.
I had a 9 trait crafter and 7 x 8 trait crafters before 'research scrolls' existed, there is a grind.
I now have 17 characters across 2 accounts maxed out in horse training (60/60/60), there is a grind.

ZOS have figured out that a lot of people have got more money than sense, so have deliberately created what people will see as a grind and given them short cuts to buy with cash. Sounds like a reasonable business model to me but they won't be getting more cash off me.

I think for those who want to race to the top as quickly as possible, it's probably too much. The first 60 or so days after launch is going to have a lot of frustrated players/crafters. Those who invest in the crown store and/or have a vast amount of gold will race to the top and make a lot of money... at first. But in two months, most players should be able to get to 50, and the market/playing field will find homeostasis.

Personally, I'm not too concerned, my view is I'll get there when I get there.

I can't wait for the crap to hit the fan when this is released with how terrible the drop rates for the nodes in addition to the 10x matt requirements.

If it wasn't for the fact I want the statue and the book, I would have cancelled my Summerset preorder after experiencing how bad this is on the PTS, even with the "increased" nodes from this last update.

true, but house doesn't really do anything.. only for decoration. and they can be purchase via crown directly now.

jewelry crafting? they are gold mat, they are just as rare as any other gold mat. if anyone want to up one jewelry, they need amount that could up ten armor/weapon. logically speaking do you think the price will be lower then alloy?

sure, the first few days price will be sky high, but i doubt the price will drop. according to feed back from pts, jewelry node are extremely rare(comparing with other material node). require ten times more, and far more rare/hard to find. would you sale your dust/bar for low price?

The sky is falling the sky is falling! I picked the most ridiculous option by the way. But i would like to make a couple of serious points:

    1) this is on test. There is a reason its called TEST server. It is used to test things. So getting in a tizzy about something that isnt even live yet is completely pointless. Im pretty sure there will be quite a few adjustments made before the live version drops and not all of those will be seen on PTS.

    2) Woodworking upgrade mats are used on two items at most. Rosin is currently averaging 3k/each. Clothing mats on a max of 7 items, Dreugh Wax is currently averaging 4.9k each. Smithing mats can be used on up to 9 items, Tempers are at 7.1k each. So you would need a max of 16 rosin, 56 dreugh wax, or 72 tempers.(Note: im ignoring other variables such as second weapon and your craft passive being not max). This is reflected in the price of the mats.

Jewelry has exactly 3 slots so 24 gold upgrade mats. So if you make it like the other mats then your going to be somewhere between rosin and wax in price and probably closer to rosin. They likely want to make it a bit more expensive to upgrade jewels. So i would expect it be as much as tempers or twice as much in "cost" to upgrade.

So, it nots going to be OMG THE GRIND! as bad as people think it is, more than likely. I would also like to point out this is the LEAST grindy MMO of any i have played when it comes to gear in some 15 years or more. So lets not get all doomsday if you have to put a little bit of effort into something that might, but probably wont, make you leet.

    1) yes it is on test, thats why i like to have our voice to be heard, so it might have a chance of improvement before actual release.

2)Yes jewelry require 24 bar to upgrade 3 slot. but you will never get bar directly from any where other then player trading. instead you will get dust when you refine base material or decon gold equipment. there is a video demonstrate gold jewelry decon on youtube. so basically you need 80 gold mat, not 8. when everyone need 80 of these for a single slot, i doubt the demand will be low. plus only those who bought summerset have access to jewelry crafting, the price probably higher then other crafting mat.

    1) so we need 3 threads a day about it?Also the people who are actually testing this on PTS are the ones who matter. Everyone else is just speculating based on hearsay...aka knee jerk reactions like they always do.

    2) You dont need 80 gold mats, you need 8. Again a kneejerk reaction. People just assume they are going to get 1 dust at time like they get one temper at time on occasion. As i said PTS is meant to test the system, the values on many things will be changed for testing purposes. The entire over the top reaction to JC is based entirely on assumptions. Im sure the devs are watching how much effort is being needed to make 1 mat and do an upgrade of one piece of jewelry.

Even if it is grindy who cares? Pretty much all other gear in the game is basically handed to you. " I have to grind for good gear before i can run that dungeon with you...brb"....walks over to guild trader, checks mail, walks back 5 minutes later..." Ok good to go, lets do this". That is literally how gear grinding in this game is. And all content can be ran in crafted gear so it really is that easy. So if one little thing is harder that we been living without for 4 years, that is ok. We lived 4 years without being to craft our own jewels, im sure we will survive until we casually grind the mats to craft/upgrade them.

There is a video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxEuGCp-MZc watch it yourself. see how many dust you get each time you decon a gold gear. as for refine raw material there is no video fully dedicate to it, but it does show in several jewel craft related video.

it is not grindy, it is insanely grindy.. also consider master wirt, would you bother doing these wirt that require 80 gold mat?

edit: in the video she decon total of 100 gold ring, she start with 520 dust and end with 592 dust. s so 100 gold ring give 72 dust. decon 100 gold jewelry and you don't even have enough for one gold upgrade. is this really the grind you willing to accept? for me? there are so many easier way to get gold jewelry.. i won't bother.. but the key is to make this profession useful, not something that purely grind and wasting time.

edit: upload an screen shot for people who do not wish to go through the boring video
    ba_jew.jpg

This is what we are complaining about a 4% drop rate on gold upgrade mats from decon? 100 rings 42 dust is basically a 4% rate. We are going to ignore the fact people post bias youtube videos to fit their argument. sort of like the guy that post that 50k parse but spent 8 hours taking videos of parses to get one of 50k. We will assume its a 5% rate( possibly higher depending on how biased the person is doing the video)

When i decon green, full passives, i get green mats about 50% of the time, Blue gear = blue mats about 25%-30% of the time, purple gear = purple mats about 15%-20% of the time. So its only logical if i decon gold gear i would get gold mats about 5% of the time.

Also, who in reality, is going to decon 100 gold rings at a time? I mean how many gold pieces of equipment have you deconned in the last month? last year? your life? A majority of the dust is going to come from "raw" sources and not decons. So that is kind of irrelevant in itself because its not practical unless gold gear drops are going to be far more common with summerset than they are now. It probably takes me a month to get enough purple gear to decon 100 pieces at a time. Even grinding for the event when i was constantly getting purple gear i probably got close to hundred in about 3 weeks and that is all purple not just jewelry. So the decon rate isnt even a practical argument if it was an argument at all and i dont see it as one. I would expect about 5% return from gold gear so it maintains both its rarity and value. its called legendary for a reason.

it is not grindy, it is insanely grindy.. also consider master wirt, would you bother doing these wirt that require 80 gold mat?

edit: in the video she decon total of 100 gold ring, she start with 520 dust and end with 592 dust. s so 100 gold ring give 72 dust. decon 100 gold jewelry and you don't even have enough for one gold upgrade. is this really the grind you willing to accept? for me? there are so many easier way to get gold jewelry.. i won't bother.. but the key is to make this profession useful, not something that purely grind and wasting time.

edit: upload an screen shot for people who do not wish to go through the boring video

I would expect about 5% return from gold gear so it maintains both its rarity and value. its called legendary for a reason.

eh.. this is just a demonstration of dust gain from decon. some people believe the grind isn't so bad, they think they will get more dust from decon gold jewelry. we don't need to worry about chance of getting upgrade mat at the moment.. as it is not something really viable for most... just saying it really require 80 to do one upgrade, and there is no short cut as some may think

    Hell no, this is insane..
While I think the grind sounds insane, I don’t really care. I’ll just learn the stamina trait so I can transmute healthy to stamina and that will be the most important. After that just time until I can make some alchemist jewlery. It sounds like the damage difference between flat stamina and any of the other traits won’t be much. Maybe 1 blood drinker trait for PvP.

Totally, in fact i want more grind. lets make it 800 gold mat to golden a single piece of jewelry.

And i misread(and thought it was 42 not 72 dust) so its 7.2% rate on the mat drop( after refined into something useful) so its even higher than i thought. It requires 80 dust but does anyone think they would get 80 gold mats from deconning 100 of legendary gear?

i dunno man; you also said that 692 - 520 = 72 when you were citing that video.
so i'm not really gonna be trusting your math from there on out...
it's difficult to trust any "logic" from someone whose basic arithmetic is so faulty as well

    ba_jew.jpg

please zoom in and see it clearly. here i have taken a screenshot for you. Also if you look carefully you will see how many dust she get when decon jewelry, i look through the video twice and i have never seen she ever gotten more then one. please confirm

p.s. i ask friends who were playing on pts and they all said they never yield more then one dust.. so if you have ever gotten more then one dust when decon these golden jewelry please do let me know

edit: i went back to check my original post, and notice i have made an typo, it was 592 - 520 = 72. please see the screen shot above

i dunno man, that "typo" conveyed a pretty large difference in ratio between your claim and the reality. considering your argument is largely dependent on outrage from differing ratios, it's tough to take seriously any "rigor" you might be relying on.

i mean, if you and your followers are okay with that, that's cool and everything. i wasn't gonna watch your video because summaries are faster. thanks for bothering with the screenshot, though.

for the record, i'm not afraid of the new crafting line being more involved than the previous lines (that can be ground out in hours). i'll be marching toward the front of that despite people's emotions on it.

Please stop spreading misinformation. The only "true elite gear" that can be acquired through Veteran Hardmode Cloudrest will be 'Perfected' versions of gear that already drops in there, which offers only marginal increases in set bonuses. This is exactly the same as the 'Regular' and 'Perfected' drops in Asylum Sanctorium.

Yes, this is just the right amount of grind for jewelry craft
In hindsight I should probably have picked "Do not care".

But the main reason I picked "Yes" is that I predict this craft devolving just like all the others (just look at furniture crafting, which was the last big crafting added). In the beginning it'll be a grind to farm/buy the necessary mats, but give it just a few months and there will be so much of it circulating that it won't be an issue anymore. TBH I only see the initial grind as an issue for those who want to be among the first and/or are impatient completionists.

Personally, I'm not too concerned, my view is I'll get there when I get there.

you don't level up crafting by crafting.. you level up crafting by deconstructing. this is mostly about you can hardly make anything due to 10 times more resource are required compare to all other crafting profession. so craft one piece take more mat then craft a full set of armor+ weapon

Before you vote, i want to make several things clear.
1st. it take 20 mat to green, 30 to blue, 40 to purple, and 80 gold mat to gold your jewelry.
2nd, think about wirt and master wirt. would you ever consider spend 80 gold mat to complete such master wirt?
3rd, they are releasing true elite gear which are superior to normal gold equipment that can only be acquire through veteran hard trial. so crafting and normal gold equipment are now inferior
4th, to craft certain trait you will have to buy trait stone from master wirt vendor and pvp vendor. they do not drop these special trait stone.

if its as bad as you say it is...why release it?

It's not that bad at all. OP is being a drama queen/confused about certain mechanics.

please do explain where i get wrong. i watch several demonstration video of jewelry crafting on youtube, and i read all the note. i ask friend who get in pts. please do correct me if i get anything wrong.

Yes, I know that deconstruction is the most efficient way to level crafting. Which is why for those with a lot of gold, they will be able to buy the more than likely ridiculously priced intricate trait jewelry that will be sold at the guild stores and power level relatively quickly, even more so if they're willing to spend crowns.

I haven't gotten a chance to try it out for myself on the PTS server (it's finals week... fml) but once I'm done tomorrow, I plan on spending a lot more time on Summerset, especially now that the servers were updated and most of my current characters are uploaded.

From what I can tell, based on my limited PST experience and the feedback of others, there does seem to be a shortage of seam nodes. I only found 2 with about 10 minutes of searching, but I found nearly 4x as many other crafting nodes in my search. So I will agree with the feedback that they need to increase the number of nodes before it goes live, especially taking into account that Jewelry Crafting is one of, if not the sole, reasons people are buying Summerset.

As you've pointed out, the need for additional seam nodes is even greater when taking into account the increased material requirements and seemingly getting less materials back from deconstructing compared to the other crafting skills. I plan on testing out jewelry crafting more once my finals are finished tomorrow morning.
