whatever the focus is...can you include something for everybody?

Like if its pve focuses, at least have double ap?
and if its pvp focuses have double xp?

you guys think that's an easy give?

Knowledge, freedom, uncertainty and the brutal truths of reality (red pill)
Security, happiness, beauty, and the blissful ignorance of illusion (blue pill)"

What are you talking about? Every event has something for everyone. It's called lag. Midyear mayhem is up next and it will include lag.

Midyear Mayhem was so much fun, looking forward to it. As far as having something for everyone: give it a try even if pvp isn't normally your thing, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Midyear mayhem is up next and was actually pretty fun last year. It brought a lot of new people into Cyrodiil and helped it feel a bit more alive. For those who don’t like pvp, just don’t do it and it won’t affect you, simple as that.

I recall that the sentiment among the "I'm never going to PVP" crowd was something like "Wow, I'm getting so many mats! Its great! Can y'all just stay in Cyrodiil?"

But did they find it enjoyable enough to stay once the event ended? I don’t think so.

    I didn’t.

Good for you, other people did. Just because you don’t enjoy pvp doesn’t mean others don’t either, is that a problem?

doesn't it just create long lines to get in making the event kind of annoying for most if you have to wait an hour to get in?

Once ZOS spun up additional campaigns to handle the (entirely predictable) extra load, it wasn't so bad on PC/NA. I would PVP on Vivec in the early morning until the lag got bad and then swap to Shor, which was about as busy as Vivec normally is.

Hopefully they open extra servers like last year.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I really hope they open the extra campaigns before the event, not several hours into the event as the existing campaigns are, completely overwhelmed.

Midyear Mayhem was a ton of fun last year, but the first 8 hours or so were a disaster.

can't wait for the 300 man 2 hour queues, the atrocious lag, and frame rate. I remember last year i did not even bothered to pvp all week. I just waited for the event to be over. It's a zergling event on steroids basically.

I can finally get Caltrops and Vigor on a couple of characters who don't have it yet. I didn't want them to be PvP characters, so I haven't bothered bringing them into Cyrodiil yet.

The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the whinefest that the forums will become when we get the expected lag and crashes.

How does Midyear Mayhem work then? Quests again? And when does this start? =)

Last year, Midyear Mayhem was in July.

Midyear Mayhem starts when you enter Cyrodiil and talk to a lady in one of your home gates with a wolf-head cape and a blood of blood extolling the virtues of elf-killing and Pelinal Whitestrake. No, I'm not sure why the Dominion lets her in except they want the sweet buffs that come when you grab the blood in the bowl. You'll get a fancy scroll for your inventory that you can activate for Double AP. Woot!

So every 2 hours, just reactivate your scroll buff from your inventory for Double AP. No, its not a collectible because those don't work in Cyrodiil.

    Issues from last year.
    • You may have to sit in queue for a while. The lag may suck. Last year, the first day was a mess because ZOS somehow didn't predict that everyone and their mother was going to descend on PVP and the campaigns were completely overwhelmed. But once they spun up extra campaigns to handle the load, everything went much smoother.
    • ZOS fixed the queue bug with cross faction queues, so hopefully we don't have a repeat of last year, where they changed the queue temporarily. You'd see a queue of 317, and get into Cyrodiil at 250 or something. Don't be too alarmed, the queue usually moved pretty fast.
    • Last year, the Battlegrounds achievement was bugged until the 2nd week.

For anyone dipping their toes in the PVP water, I have some serious advice:

    1. Wear Impenetrable trait armor. For the love of the Divines, wear impenetrable trait armor. A cheap set is fine. If you don't, OMG, you are soooo squishy.

    2. Find a group to run with. LFG in zone chat. If you are new to PVP, its very frustrating without a group. If you can't find a group, don't be afraid to start an LFG yourself and ride around. Capture resources or something. Have fun.

    3. Read Joy_Division's Advice for the Midyear Mayhem Event. Seriously, everything thing I neeeded to know to start PVP off on the right foot is in this guide. (It came out a half a year after I'd started, alas :) ) Its a fantastic guide with all the basics and a great deal of helpful advice for how to survive, how to kill, and how to have fun while knocking out those support/assault skill lines and festival achievements. https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/360956/joy-s-advice-for-midyear-mayhem-event/p1
