How to report BOT's?

Today I found an other BOT army running arround (8 Bots)
Since I am not willing to use the report form (sorry, but it sucks) on 8 "players", I wanted to ask if there is an other way to report them? @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom
I attached you a censored picture here. I can send you a video of them running arround with char/acc names screenshots of each of them. Both is funnier and faster than using the report system..
Please just answer me if you are realy interested in banning them.

Cheers.

I recently reported 5 leveling bots that were running perfectly synchronous routes in Reaper's march. I just cut'n'pasted the same message about them being bots into the interface, but it was a bit of a challenge to get all 5 reported, as they were standing so close to each other that it was hard to target them.

I find it more worrying that these bots are even capable of running around like that without being detected by some kind of automated system and getting auto-banned. It surprises me that ZOS doesn't have systems like this in place to combat cheating.

Honestly don’t bother they won’t remove them. I have reported hundreds and they are not removed. Go ahead ZOS check how many I have reported. Until they get weekend gamemasters to come in game real time it will never stop.

Yea I reported some bots once, then over a month later the same lead bot was running around with a bunch of new ones behind him, they don't do anything about them.

    Hey @Zapzarap,

The in-game reporting tools are there for this type of thing. We don't accept reports via the forums.

If you have feedback on how the in-game system works, you're welcome to provide it.

it is almost impossible to report bots in game as they are always moving in packs of 12+ with all of their pets. Good luck being able to figure out that the name of one of them is @lasflkjasfjkasfk (and deciphering which of those is is or Ls) and then getting a screenshot of it for your report before they move on to the next mob.

Hey @ZOS_Edward can you take a look at this thread and maybe forward it along to someone who can actually do something about this or at least comment on the thread?

First of all I apologize if the following sounds a bit salty...

    1. I dont want to report via forum, thats why I asked about an other way.
    2. If you have ever tried to report a bot player with the ingame system you would know that it is kind of a mess (nicely said)
Just to quote some players that already responded here:

It would just help a lot to open the report on a player and automatically have the account name in there... Anyway, then its still a mess to get the right player in focus...
And than it is impossible to report them with a screenshot because they are constantly running and if you move, the report closes.

Ways to improve? Let us take screenshots with the name beforehand, load them into the game and then report.
Or even make a web page where we can do reports... so we just create a screenshot with the acc name and you guys can figure out the name yourself? :D

Come on, go on with the in-game report tool x 8. You will get 8x automated messages to your email. And those 8 bots will still be farming tomorrow.

This is exactly my experience i have with reporting bots. I have been updating tickets with screenshots for weeks.
Nothing, all bots are still there. ZOS doing nothing about bots is very frustrating. On the other hand if some players find an exploit in a trial people get perma-banned immediately

funny how every bot topic is the same.

    people complain about the bots

Mod or community rep comes in and says to use the in game function

People explain how the in game function doesn't work properly

mod or community rep never returns again.

Report just one via "F1" -> "Ask for help" -> "Report Player" and write that it is a bot train.
For PC you can use the addon Bot Scanner 2000 which helps to report all accounts with ease.

But see the paragrap in the email you receive from ZOS:
We will assume your issue has been resolved if we do not hear from you within 96 hours (4 days).

So basically the ticket gets closed after 4 days and nobody at ZOS cares about your report

    FEEDBACK:

There is insufficient follow up after a report is made.

    SUGGESTION:

Dedicate an employee to in game abuse matters. Create a special option in Group Finder called "Request Gamemaster to witness an in-game abuse." It would show you your place in the queue. When the queue gets to you, the Gamemaster joins your group and you can show them what violation you believe you are seeing and let them decide officially how to handle.

Even a part time position covering this would help. The hours would need to be irregular so the bots couldn't just straight up avoid the working hours, but coverage wouldn't have to be 24/7. I mean, anything is better than what we currently have.

Do you see the overall feedback here?

I honastly dont know if you guys are doing something against BOT's, and it is ok if you don't because of a buisness model.
And if you do something against it, maybe make it more public? Tell us in ESO-live, or somewhere else.

For example: I was realy pissed of that you released the fully bugged Scalecaller Peak version with all the bugs that have been public since PTS day one... But I have to say: I was only half pissed off after seeing the dev's failing because of bugs and explaining why that bug happens... Still don't know why they haven't fixed it if they knew why the bug appear... but anyway, after that you could calculate the wipes.

From an other perspective: If you hire one guy that only bans bots the whole day you make money because they need to purchase the game again xD

GMs used to pop in and destroy bots at launch after asking non-bots to stand back. Then BOOM!!! Could use more of that. Throw some of that $30 mount money at the problem

Not everyone has access to add-ons or wants to sit and film or write down info on the blob. I've tried it and the same train kept running for a long time. Might still be there. Bot trains should leave a detectable pattern for staff, but better reporting tools for bot trains native to the UI should be added and without the "we'll consider it closed if you don't keep griping about it" message. Bots don't just go away.

I can confirm that it is in fact a waste of time reporting bots.

There is a place in deeshan I use for grinding. When I was first trying to level characters on pc na I would run into the exact same 3 bots in a group on a daily basis. How do I know they are bots?
I farmed against their rotation (basically ran the route backwards), and left 1 zombie for them to attack. What these bots ended up doing was running around a big circle, finding no enemies (because I killed them on respawn) and only attacking the one I left dor them. No sane person would do that. In fact I'd probably get hate tells for messing up their grinding. But along they went from spawn location to spawn location wandering aimlessly.

So I reported this group several times. Then I continued reporting location and time on the open tickets whenever I saw them. Eventually I gave up.

Geuss who I saw in the same spot a few days ago? Yea, they don't care. It makes me want to bot myself to get to max cp and lots of gold :naughty:

I can confirm this works, ps4 EU

I had bots in alikr ok reported them and with in 4 hours they were gone, and didn't return for 2 to 3 days then it was another group

It gets tedious reporting them this way, so now I just ignore them ... Instead we try to run a guild economy, rather than working within the world one ... It's fairer and we don't worry over what boys are doing, but as the bots grow as we resign ourselves to thier presence I and many others find we play less

Pretty soon bots is all that will be left if you don't take more affirmative action

Now seriously, I've been playing all kind of online game since the dawn of online games and this is a war we cannot win, it doesn't matter the game. It doesn't matter if we talk about bot characters gathering stuff, bot spammers on chat selling for real money or whatever. That's why I miss old times when all games used to had full PvP and loss of XP and Items on death. Kill bots was funny, having more bots coming to you after you killed a few of them and insulting you in Chinese "Cao Ni Ma" or yelling "*** USA" even if you are European is even more funnier. And gathering guilds, even people who usually are enemies and kill each other and go to endgame areas to wipe bots now and then, that was epic!
