Bethesda has 2 big projects before the TES VI. Don't wait for it. Wait for more skyrim releases!

theyre probably trying to port 2 more different versions of skyrim for all the main consoles, and then get them all onto smartphones, smart refridgerators, apple watches, and toasters - because lets be honest who doesnt want to play skyrim on their toaster? and on top of that, theyre having a hard time debating whether or not people will still bend over and pay if they decide to keep selling these editions of a 7 year old game for the price of a brand new game.

so yeah its gonna be a while before we ever hear about TES6. they havent milked people hard enough off of skyrim already.

If rumors are true, we are soon anticipating the sixth instalment of the TES epic saga. It will be inevitably on market shelves no matter what ESO community thinks. The thing is the release of TES6 will dramatically affect the outflow of ESO players from the game to gain new experience in TES6. The ESO release was a breath of fresh air for all TES community, notwithstanding the fact that Skyrim is still in vogue amongst tons of gamers. It was a great marketing strategy to release ESO in several years after Skyrim when TES5 worls has already been explored by all for multiple times, and I'm no exception. New world, new experience, and the thing all players have been dreaming of for ages - to be drowned in TES world with all other travellers and wanderers, that's why the game is so popular. But what should the game ancicipate with the TES6 release? Will ESO community leave the project for trying TES6? Of course, all would like to try this one. But DAMN, how to combine all these two games?)

elder scrolls online will ultimately prevail over a sixth installment of elder scrolls. reason being none of them will hold a candle to morrowind with what we were able to do able to create and able to see. a mmo will always out live a single player game experience. the elder scrolls 5 skyrim lasted me to 100% it even modded....one week if i was lucky. the addons that came out for skyrim lasted me maybe 48 hrs. the elder scrolls 6 will only last people maybe a month tops lowball probly what skyrim lasted me a week even modded and theyll come back to eso. singleplayer games are on their way out the door the last good singleplayer game came out not long ago and that was god of war the story was amazing but the gameplay was borderline annoying. so really people say a game like tes6 will last years nope i give it months. the only thing still keeping skyrim breathing is its constant mod support which thats a horse that needs to die already its reached the end of its life 7 times. eso releases fresh new content for us on a regular basis and that will keep alot of players hooked to eso for decades to come until eso2 comes out.

considering we won't see it until 2027 at least...I would say not very much.

If they release a co-op version of TES6 I may never play ESO again. Only really care to play ESO because I play with my wife and we're both huge Elder Scrolls fans.

If they release co-op, and they should but probably won't because it will hurt ESO's player base in the long run, my wife and I will probably spend the next few years playing that. Only logging into ESO occasionally.

they wont release co op not due to esos playerbase but due to what the elder scrolls series have all been minus eso. singleplayer games. and besides the game wont stay alive as long as alot of you are hopeing singleplayer games only go so far in life span before they get old when mmos last as long as devs are willing to support it. if it ends up like skyrim(which theres no doubt in my mind it will if we ever see it in the next 10 years) itll be on life support within the first year thanks to the modding community(if they even allow mods)

In a pretend world where this actually happened, I'd be gone for 2 - 6 months depending on how much content the community can generate. IF they ever actually complete Skywind and Skyblivion, I'm out for 6 weeks - 3 months. I'm not willing to lose my guilds during that though, so I'd need to log in here and there to donate and participate some.

Regardless, ESO is it's own animal and for me the single player games won't keep me out for good. I do hope to get to do some of that again, but it doesn't feel like it's really going to happen.

Tbh, I'm nor overly impressed with ESO as whole. It's an excellent roleplaying platform and it's fun to have a house to decorate, but besides that, this game doesn't really do it for me.

I'm more after a Skyrim with friends experience. A sandbox experience with an overlay of themepark. Call it a sandpark. I'm hoping for a coop TES6.

ZOS has to be terrified of TES6. I can't imagine I'd touch ESO for months, maybe even a full year. And who knows if I'd even bother at that point.

Um, ZOS works very closely with Bethesda Game Studios. They would know in advance if any development was being done on TES VI and would probably end up working to make it consistent with ESO.

They have literally zero reason to be terrified.

What does "soon" means to you? Are you some sort of celestial, cosmic or otherwise millenial being so year are just like blinking for you?

On topic, I will surely buy and play TES6, but i will still play ESO because of co-op with friends and gf.

eh we all know the games coming just bethesdas already said their nowhere near making that game right now due to many other projects their currently working on. we wont see that thing for another 10 years if were lucky. personally id like to see tes6 take place when the war for the throne happens after skyrim.

Yeah, you actually did. Your "explanation" didn't explain anything.

ZOS has no reason to fear a single player TES title. At all.

BGS and ZOS would work together to make sure of it.

I have to say this.....its not like people buy a new game and never play their old games.
I'm sure there is always that small exception but....its likely the two will differ so much that those of us who own ESO and who buy TES 6, we will continue to spend time on both.

Also, its likely due to any TES release, it opens existing players to the other titles

I don't know about the team. They keep chipping away with discord updates, but there are big time gaps between them. In truth I only know it looks very slow to this non programmer. My gut tells me I'm not taking that short break from ESO anytime soon. More importantly here, I don't see any single player game as a threat to ESO. For all the complaints, there are reasonably frequent updates to go along with a massive amount of content that's already there.

The other thing is that Skyrim is being "re-mastered" and will be sold anew for VR use.

Saw that recently in PC Gamer.

Personally, I'm on my third go-around with Skyrim and still finding places I hadn't found before. I also Googled mods and found a list of the 8 largest Skyrim mods, so I'll be downloading those soon and that will keep me busy for a while lol.

"IF", and that's a massive if, TES6 Came out tomorrow I would be gone in a flash. ESO would be my backup game for when I get bored.

As Tandor stated above I would probably keep my ESO subscription. I kept it for three years while I wasn't playing it so why not continue as it is the ONLY MMO I halfway enjoy anymore.

Pretty sure Howard said they havent even begun development, at last years E3

So i think you're gonna be waiting longer than you think buddy

This. Last year they said they haven't even started working on it. We're doomed to re-releases of Skyrim until Todd Howard finally dies at the age of 225.

Bethesda and Howard also said Oblivion wasn’t in development a few months before release, said they had no more future plans for another TES game after Oblivion and revealed Skyrim 6 months later, and said Fallout 4 wasn’t even in development shortly before release.

Bethesda is very good at holding things close to their chest. TES6 has been being worked in some capacity since Skyrim DLC finished and probably only started getting more attention after they were done with Fallout 4

We will see TES6 sooner then people think maybe not this year but soon...it’s too big a money maker to hold off much longer

I really don't want to see TES6 anytime soon, like maybe within the next 5 to 6 years. There's a lot more content that can be put in this game, and I'd really like to be able to travel all over Nirn and visit all of the other continents in addition to playing as the other races. I'd also really would like to be able to travel to all of the other planets or realms in the ESO universe.

Also I don’t think TES6 effects ESO much of at all

They cater to different audiences. Most of the single player people don’t play ESO(if they did ZOS would have 30 million accounts) and most of the 8 mill ESO accounts they have really are not into single player games.

Sure some will play both or one or the other but it’s really not going to effect ESO much at all as ESO has its niche and single player has its niche. They can coexist with no issues
