Question: Purchasing Summerset and linking account to Steam

Hi,

I purchased ESO way back in April 2014 from the Eso site. I have not bought content since. I would like to pre-purchase the new Summerset expansion through my Steam account to take advantage of my Steam wallet. My question is: Will I be able to play on my original 2014 account if I purchase the Summerset pack by linking them?

My guess from researching is that I should be able to Pre-purchase on Steam, will have to redownload the game client through Steam but once I login through Steam it should give me a dialogue option to login with an existing Eso account which would link my original account(thus my characters) to the Summerset Xpac?

Just want to make sure. Thank you.
