Edit: as noted before, paper would get soggy in water so what about making the motif pages messages inside a bottle?



Just like completing morrowind main quest helped your rng with arminger, I am hoping these two achievements can give each a increased percentage chance to drop the motifs more often.

I see serious combat fishing in the first couple weeks. It will be worse than lining the shores for a salmon run in the fall. But I do like it!

Phew, at least these pages will be able to be sold and obtainable without buying crown crates. I also see that people will skip most content and go straight into fishing frenzy I'm happy that the feedback got through this time.

A step in the right direction, but I remain cautious. What will the drop rates be like? Not to mention the competition for fishing nodes and the slow rate at which they respawn.

The proof is in the pudding.

I really like this idea. I love the exploration in the game. I like to take it slow by just wandering around and harvesting or fishing after a good amount of daily questing, fighting and destroying the anchors.
Looking forward to the Summerset Isle content.

Let's see: the most tedious activity in the game coupled with the most difficult to get (non combat, PvE) achievement, and probably abysmal drop rates...you'd better break out the credit card guys, or you'll be grinding this into your retirement. But yes, technically obtainable in-game.

The fact that people will be able to get them out side of crates is a huge win. I figure they will have a drop rate about the same as perfect roe, which I am fine with. It will give those who fish more stuff to sell.

Nice! I'm not a fan of fishing particularly, but if the pages are not bound I can force a friend to do it for me mwahahaa! Although I expect the drop-rate to be awful, at least there is a chance of getting them without having to buy crap-crates. Win!

While patience is a virtue of all fishermen out there, especially those with the Angler achievement, I wouldn’t rejoice just yet until you figure out the drop rate of the motif pages. It might pale in comparison to the achievement itself

I don't see anything in Gina's statement about players needing the Master Angler achievement to get the motifs, so it's safe to assume anyone can fish for them.

Lol. People will always find something to complain about, won't they?

I mean, this is a great thing. It gives another incentive to fish, which people were saying (and rightfully so) wasn't really worth the time. And now there is an in-game way to obtain something in crown crates. Dunno what the drop rate will be like, but still. But yeah kudos to ZOS for that.

Regardless of how abysmal the drop rate might be this means the motif is earn-able in the game and that ZOS listened to the feedback.

Yes, it's a good thing (though I wouldn't call it great) to give people a chance to go after motifs. I just don't feel fishing is the best place for this.

The pages are going to be soggy, making them either hard to read or worthless. Trying to stick them in book is going to be a nightmare.

This isn't to brag, but I have the worst luck of capturing purple home furnishings in the game. I have more "seasons" pictures than I know what to do with (or I could just buy more houses to hang them).

I just get a sinking feeling I'll be catching motifs, rather than that one last foul fish I need to complete my list.


Can't trade motifs for rare fish in the game.
