Hand and spell skill line

So watching the ESO trailer the first one with the elf fighting the daedra using those visuals here is what I cam up with:

1) knock back: using a blasé of energy knock enemy back off balance. Morph1: cause them to fall down Morph2: cause damage

2) Energy whip: causes damage Morph1: Causes chocking damage over time Morph2: immobilizes enemy

3) Energy beam/whip attacks all enemies in radius causes damage and slow down. Morph1: extra damage Morph2: larger radius and more time slowed down

4) Shoots a green energy ball cause damage Morph 1: damage over time Morph2: multiple targets hit

5) Imbue weapon with magic energy dealing more damage to light and heavy attacks Morph1: longer duration and more damage Morph2: when attack you drain magic from enemy and recoup mana.

Ultimate: Ability to cast a shield/dome that deflects attacks for X seconds allowing party members to regroup. (sort of like in the trailer when the elf cast shield around the area.

other possible attacks I thought of was:

1) energy dagger thrown
2) shield that blocks x percentage of damage
3) Green flame attack/wall aoe type weapon.

    Something along these lines was datamined a while back but sadly hasn't so far made it into the game.

    We really need some alternatives to destro staff for magicka DPS.

    I agree we already have NPC's that use a 1handed weapon and spells, heck that was awesome things about elderscrolls being able to wield a weapon and then use the off hand to throw spells

    I'm sure the 1H and rune thing was rumour all from the Morrowind marketing image.

    Seen the frost/flame/shock gauntlets in the recent data mining.

    You people....you whine about the frost staff being a tanking weapon option....but when any new magicka weapon skill-lim(or the possibilities thereof) are under discussion, the first thing you do is say it should be DPS....not everything in this game needs to be about DPS...and from a flavor perspective a 1 hand and spell skill line is a much better fit for a hybrid build...and tanks are the only real hybrids in the game currently...take your ice staff back and give this option for tanks...or...better yet, if this skill line were to truly become a thing, each skill should have 3 morphs...one tanking, one healing, one DPS...or maybe make a hyrbrid weapon/world skill line called Spellsword with 3 different trees for the 3 different roles, whichever way you apply something like this, I would suggest each spell be a combination of magicka and stamina...something like cost:2300Magicka and 700 stamina. I would love to see a skill line with hybrid costs...it might actually stop this all points in magicka/stamina nonsense.

    A sword in one hand, and a spell on the other is how I always ended up playing Elder Scrolls games. It always felt less concious, and more innate.

    Cool ideas, I wish there was a one-handed option for mages. Loved running axe and restoration spells in TESV. Would also be cool just to have a staff style item that just uses your hands instead of a staff (animation-wise), but that's almost another conversation entirely.

    Magicka tanking should have been added with a new weapon and skill line, such as the often proposed "Alteration Staff", rather than by removing a DPS option.

    I was thinking some other possible 1H and Spell skills could be:

    adding the ability to create a shield for a number of X time your heavy attacks agro, so then you can create a true spell tanker without having to use shield.

    screw all this where is my pugilist skill line? even one hand and punch skills. block with my dagger then break their nose with a right hook and cause bleed damage. I want to punch molag bal and that snotty high elf from selenes. there are others but those two first. < walks away in a huff since a hand skill line was not what I though this discussion was going to be about> back to our regularly scheduled discussion

    we dont need this we need rune weapons. something like youd see in castlevania order of ecclesia. dual wielding magic weapons stuff like that would be alot better. equip a rune on both hands one could be ice related another fire or shock or a summon. it really would be an interesting concept.

    That's skill line has been missing since like ever, in more TES games than just ESO. If only though. I wanna put that Khajiit unarmed bonus to good use!
