The way I see it, this could be something I could earn in-game, or buy directly from the store. I love ESO and want it to flourish, so I happily support it with muh wallet in regards to crown store items.
This is all I really have to say on the subject, so as always, we shall just have to wait and see.

The sad thing isn't HOW people spend their money, it is the fact that in the act of doing so, they are encouraging more of this "put it in the crate, add more rng" mentality. I am certainly not hating on the players who buy these; they want the stuff, they buy it. It is there choice. ZOS or whomever within is responsible, is seeing this and piling more items into the crates, more rng into the crates. This is the thing that saddens me.
How long until they put houses into the crates with absurdly low odds? Trials skins?? I hope never.
You dont have to buy them Thats the bottom line. I dont and dont blink an eye at the new stuff they put in there and i would bet Thats the majority of the players.
Right now in the "video game forum community" the cool thing to do right now is complain about store items. The best part is most of those complaining were the same ones complaining about sub fees. Well these stores are here because these same people wanted free games.
These are not charities these are busineses that need money to help improve and add more content . I was against the f2p b2p models and now i sit back pay my subs and shake my head at the uproar these people created themselves .

That's an interesting, albeit baseless, assumption. I sub, I am against crates. I sub, I am against the exorbitant prices ZOS charges.
I loathe when people pull out the "this is not a charity" card. No one expects it to be. No one is against ZOS making money. There's a difference between offering content at reasonable prices and *gestures at current crown store/crates* whatever this is.
Between charging for DLCs, charging for chapters, optional subs, and a crown store, it seems pretty likely that ZOS is making money. There's no need for putting more and more and more and more and more and more content in crates and charging ridiculously high prices for direct purchase, especially when it comes at the expense of the game itself (furnishing plans rare because crown store, motifs rare because crown store, fewer obtainable achievement rewards because crown store).
