Not many people are buying right now because people are still seeing what they get from boxes. Why buy when you could still get the drop and then you have another motif taking up inventory. Id say around sunday your going to start to see a pick up in sales on traders for motifs.

Also if your doing dailies you are making money, your just not counting it. I make 50k plus profit on 3 characters a day and i have not done any selling on traders since the event started. That 50k gold is from normal loot drops and quest turn ins. I will also have gained 100 CP during this event which at mid CP levels is really nice to be gaining 5-6 CP a day.

I just don't know how people are making so much money during this event; the prices for pretty much everything have completely bottomed out due to the glut of availability in the traders.

Except for low-level mats I suppose, but there's a timesink for farming there.

I've only made a bit because I haven't sold any of the motifs, just cleared my bank of surplus items and my craft bag of low level materials. But making gold is trivial, low skill, and I really see no point in bragging about it. In fact even without focusing on trading - I mostly do it to clear inventory - I have quite enough gold and I haven't been able to spend more that I earned in any length of time.

As for potions used in trials, weapon power ones are ~90 gold, and spell power ones ~180 gold, less if you craft them yourself from bought ingredients. Provided you drink one every 45s during an hour trial, you'll only need about 80 of those. That's between 7-14K gold per hour in potions used, which you'll recoup even at the upper range by simply vendoring the Undaunted Plunder and various trash gear that drops from enemies, even deconstructing the bad trait set items and selling tempers and trait items on guild stores.

Still seeing 200k for some of the WC stuff and pretty high numbers for BA. This is on PC/EU if that matters. Also, even with stuff that is going for, say, 20-30k, sell enough and it adds up.

This one she has made coin, probably an equal amount of coin has been spent on completing the present motifs (apart from BA and MO).

Pages have been given when friends need them. Others have been sold.

This is the finest time of the year for a crafter with a full compliment of apprentices. This one worked hard for months to ensure she had enough materials to get through.

The furniture crafting materials and style stones are also greatly appreciated.

I did over 100 a day until Monday. Down to 90 a day now PTS has started. I haven't aggregated all the gold on my characters yet but I can see it's going to be upwards of 2 million. Now, if only I can find something to spend it on.

By the next anniversary I'm going to have enough characters to slam out writs in the early am and some daily quests in the evening, when I have the time to play. I only made about 200g. (It's my first anniversary event)

No gold from the event yet. I am however sitting on a bank full of motifs, have picked up a mountain of columbine as well as a whole lot of Kutas and gold upgrade materials.

I don't really need the gold for anything at the moment so I will wait until I want something and sell then.

My motif sales have dried up, pretty much. I'm now banking them for sale in a couple months, but I'm pretty quickly running out of bank space..

it only takes 2 hours per day to get 91 just doing the 6 daily crafting writs, so not much of an effort

This flipping event has cost me nearly 2 mil gold. Completely Rekt my VHOF carry fund. Lol it’s not over yet though!

I've done alright. Started with somewhere between 300-500k. Now at 1.3 million. Spent over a million finishing motifs I still needed pages for. I'm only doing writs, on 11 characters, for boxes. I'm about done listing motifs though, everything else I have or pick up before the event ends, I'm sitting on unless someone I know is looking for something in particular.

Man I would love to make gold... but my trade guild lost their store..... then got a store (I made 50K)... then lost their store again, my other guild with a store (not dedicated trade guild) also lost their store now I have a full inventory, a full bank and full listings.

I can't just join more trade guilds I play PVP and PVE and I need guilds for those things as well.

Understood mate, I left myself space for traders a long time ago, so I have done well being a loyal member of my trader guild (in the loyal rank, will not ever get kicked huehue). Those with traders certainly benefit more from the event, because you can post pages for REALLY CHEAP...but yes, this was what I was referring to!

The point is, the gold wasn't generated much more than usually (mostly from writs, and low level writs don't generate much gold). It was only redistributed. So, basically, for you to get rich, somebody had to get poor.

I am at about 40 a day. I barely made any gold cuz i ate most motifs i got and bought quite a few. I completed 5 sets so far this event. Also at 7/14 on worm, 5/14 on buoyant. More like buy cheap motif than save gold.

The only way gold actually generates is through the drops in the game, such as plunder from trials, and other things sold to NPCS specifically. Nothing really generates gold in terms of trading!

I've made some gold, but hoarded more than anything, learning everything i could. I figure in a few months i'll be able to supplement a nice income, but i'm already close to 2 mil and nothing to really buy.

I have 1 character and all i do for dailies is writs and Ive made a few hundred thousand and bought all the motifs I wanted.

I've finally finished my entire collection of motifs, using gold from some of my findings in crates as funding for this endeavor. I still have quite a few expensive motifs banked, planning to wait out the prices a bit until they stabilize in a few months.

Started 10 days ago, get 195+ boxes every day, learned WC and got like 4-6 mln in motif pages, maybe more. Would sell later.
Dunno about mats, has to be another huge gain.

Edit: And yes, I know that it makes the pockets lighter for those that purchase the motifs, but the event is reducing the overall price of motifs drastically. On the PC platforms it is especially notable, because of the assistance of addons that craft the goods for writs, and show the locations of quests, etc.

now, i don't want to burst your bubble on making lots of gold and getting loads of cool stuff. you do realize that, virtually, everyone else is doing exactly the same thing?

lots of cool stuff outside of motifs.... i have at least 20 more perfect roe and 40 more nirn stones than i did at the start of the event. those rarer style stones.... i have dozens of them.... and so on and on and on.

the result of all this will be a shift in market prices so despite having more stuff you are actually no better off.

why?

because everyone else has more stuff too.
