Anyone buying the Great Dark Stag today?

So, I previewed it and was not impressed.

Looked at the Great Elk mount available for 100 Crown Gems or whatever. THAT is more of the elk I am looking for.

So, I bought (regrettably, as I am not a fan of the gambling Crown Crate stuff) 1,500 Crowns worth of crates. That's $25, so $15 less than this overpriced Doom Elk ridiculousness.

Got nothing of real value, as expected. Broke down the items into gems. Had enough plus the gems from breaking down useless stuff from my various free Crown crates just for playing, and had enough gems to just buy the Great Elk and call it a day. For a lot less real money. For, honestly, the real world price I would have paid for an elk mount outright (the 1,500-2,000 Crown range).

Screw your 4,000 Crown mounts, ZOS.

Screaming bugle is present when you have the elks rear up, but otherwise fairly quiet when running or mounting/dismounting. The bugle doesn't bother me because it is actually accurate to real life. We get deer through our yard a lot and when they are alarmed or agitated, they make this crazy bugling whistle through their noses. Elk are just... really big deer, after all.

I'm gonna stick to the default horse and HoTR wolf mount for my toons. If it's not free with an upgrade / expansion, I ain't buying it.

I generally don't buy the flaming, undead, possessed or otherwise unnatural looking mounts.

They look stupid to me.

Although I would probably buy one of those Beaver-Cow-Spider things from the Wrothgar region if they were in mount form.

It's purple. I still shudder when I remember Oblivion's purple horses.

I splashed out on the original stag, only to feel disappointed that it used horse animations instead of a set of new ones for it. No interest in this purple one.

Loving it but keeping my crowns for outfit slots. Zos cannot have it both ways.

I got it last year on the PS4, but now that I switched to PC I don't have the crowns to get it. I have around 15k still rotting on the console =(

Sadly this event just turned me off. I was going to buy some crowns to buy some things, but seeing this just pissed me off. That is what about $40 Canadian? I may as well pay double that and buy a game. I am really considering buying Monster Hunter World now. Hell I can get plenty of games for $40. Just bought Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen. That is almost the real Skyrim killer.

I just find it funny Zenimax is making me find other games and having my money given to them instead of Zenimax. I would have gladly given Zenimax my money over the last two years, but I took that money and bought other games and stuff. I guess $500 buck is not much for Zenimax but the other developers seem to appreciate it when I buy their games.

Even $20 seems a bit too much but acceptable. $40? No. I can really see how Zenimax views us now. Such a shame really. Was about to invest heavily into ESO but now but I will just vote with my wallet and have my money spent else where. My money spent else where means I am playing ESO less or not at all. If I am not playing not at all, how will I ever spend money on ESO again?

Nope. I don't actually think it looks too bad, but it is ridiculously expensive. Also I will ride my bear mount forever, because I love my bear.

I missed this, but personally I'm really bothered by lore-stretching/immersion-breaking mounts, polymorphs, and costumes. (Yeah, I'm one of "those" people.)

So this one's another no for me. (For this and others' mentioned reasons, as well.)

Agreed. The prices in the store are a bit obscene. The elk costed more than summerset for me.

I have it from October and love it.
It's not like the photos though. It's seriously blueblack- pitch black. No accenting colours. With red eyes - but that's it.
