I'm pretty sure this is covered in the terms of service or other legal walls of text. They owe you nothing.
    It is.
    6. Availability of Services and Content; Game Maintenance, Patches, Updates; Termination of Services

ZeniMax does not guarantee that any Services will be available at all times, in all countries and/or all geographic locations, at any given time, or that ZeniMax will continue to offer any particular Services for any particular length of time. Except as prohibited by applicable law and subject to the Statutory Obligations (as defined in Section 1), ZeniMax reserves the right to change and update Content without notice to You. ZeniMax also reserves the right to refuse Your request(s) to acquire Content, and to limit or block any request to acquire Content, including, but not limited to, Downloadable Content and Game Mods, for any reason.

ZeniMax may patch, update, or modify a Service at any time with or without notice to You. Notwithstanding the foregoing, ZeniMax has no obligation to make available any patches, updates or modifications or correct any errors or defects in the Services. ZeniMax makes no guarantees about the persistence or availability of any user names or other personas at any time and assumes no liability for lost or deleted Account data. Except as prohibited by applicable law and subject to the Statutory Obligations (as defined in Section 1), You agree that ZeniMax will not be liable for any interruption of the Services, delay or failure to perform, any loss of Content (including, but not limited to, UGC, Game Mods and Downloadable Content), and/or Account data (including, but not limited to, Character data) resulting from any causes whatsoever. ZeniMax reserves the right to offer new Services, change and/or discontinue certain Services at any time in its sole discretion.

This is a policy statement. It is not law.

The point that the OP is making is based on FEE FOR SERVICE. Where the service is not provided, the remedy for that is covered by the legislation of sovereign state where the consumer resides.

Stop quoting this, as if it is not contestable.

but you agreed to the tos when you made your account...

you had to tick a box that says something like 'i agree to the terms of service'.

in doing so you abrogated whatever right you may have had under you local law.

But the service the fee is being paid for is still being fulfilled, that fee is not paying for 3rd party ISP connectivity. If it was and correct SLAs were in place you might have a tenuos point. This fee is fit a host of things still provided.

The event has been extended, ZOS have done more than enough.

Besides how do you extend my ESO+ I'm on direct debit?? Add two dats at the end when I cancel in 5 years lol

    Sheesh.

Sure, its contestable. You can contest it for your $0.02 an hour.

And they'll probably look at you and say, "You agreed to this TOS, yeah? Okay, so prove that these hours of maintenance/downtime arent covered by the TOS you agreed to."

I love all the forum attorneys.

There's something more important than Terms Of Service and more important than a paltry $1.50: it's customers retention.

If you keep having them a bad or absent service experience, then there'll be no TOS or reimbursment to pay back people who unsub and / or start spamming the whole internet about how bad your product is and how bad you treat them.

Its ZOS. If they cared about customer retention, things would be different 'round these parts.

People scream about customer retention every single time this topic comes up, and it comes up a lot. Does anything change? Nope.

You are literally the only person I have ever heard call them that. There are plenty of insulting/accusatory names commonly used for ZoS, but that's not one of them...

Zenibug. Huh, haven't heard that one before. I think I'd go with "Bugthesda" over that.

I prefer ZO$ if I'm going to be snide.

So when you lease a car and take it in for servicing you get a few dollars deducted from your lease payment?

Some people have no common sense at all.

We aren't talking about cars, but a game.
