Various vital elements missing from ESO

I would have picked a more specific category, but I can't really be bothered to do multiple posts in multiple categories so I decided to just post here.

As an Elder Scrolls fan who did NOT want an online Elder Scrolls game, I'm surprised by how much I like ESO. But still, there are things that need to be sorted and I don't understand why some of these things aren't as obvious to game devs as they are to me.

1. Guildhalls.
Why is it that a guildmaster can't set a home as a guildhall? Yes yes I know that I can authorize any and all guilds I'm in to use my place, but nobody wants to go scrolling through a roster.
Guildmasters should be able to set a home as an official guildhall, or a leutenant (is that the the correct rank?) should be able to submit their home as the guildhall for the guildmaster to accept or decline at their discretion.
Just how trader information is posted for trading guilds, guildhall information should be posted too and there should be an option in Guild menu, preferably above Roster, to Travel to Guildhall.
Hang on, I don't think I typed "guild" enough. Guild guild guild. Okay, I'm done.

2. Home visitation.
Why can my friends only visit my primary residence? Could we please have a system where you select "visit residence" and then have a dropdown menu of primary, secondary and tertiary homes, and have them named so players know where they're going? eg [Primary: Grymhearth's Woe.]

3. Dye and outfit stations.
Is it just me or is the outfit station fairly unintuitive? I appreciate what they were trying to do but still. I take a noob to the outfit station and they tell me how confused they are and "don't want to pay to dye their gear". Which obviously, they don't, but still. I'd like to see dye stations brought back and the outfit system replaced with a true transmog where players could pay gold to physically change the style of any armour piece. WoW guys want it. WoW guys don't have it. Zenimax: be the ones to do it first.
I'd also like to see dye stations allow a player to dye their weapons as you can with outfit station.

4. Home storage.
Yes yes I know about fences, but sometimes I steal more than I can fence. And yes I also know about the Trafficker perk. But I still sometimes steal too much and don't want to carry it around with me. Why in Talos' name can't I store my stolen items in my own personal home storage that only I have access to? That makes no sense. I can do it in Skyrim so why can't I do it here?

5. Furnishing crafting.
Seriously, who's idea was it to split all the furnishing between the 6 different crafting stations? Why is there not simply a furnishing crafting station? I hate running around different stations to find which one I can make a specific item at.
Also, it would be really great if the furnishing station allowed you to filter by racial styles.

6. Stamblades are a bit nerfed.
Nuff said.

7.Tanks.
We need more tanks. Some players tell me that the lack of AoE taunt puts them off tanking. Others say it's becuase they do too little damage. I don't tank so if anyone has insight, it may help.

What does everyone else think?

Say NO to Crown Crates. Crown Crates are Loot Boxes. Loot Boxes are gambling. Zenimax makes enough money off us.
ESO+ is part of the "Games as a service" trend. A trend that needs to die. Subscribe only when you need Crowns for DLC.
Say no to "radiant" junk quests replacing proper side content and the dumbing down of our favorite franchises.

I would like to see npc guilds to be much more relevant to the game. You get the skill line, finish the quest line and you are done with them. They should have been much more different. For example instead of choosing skill morphs freely we could train at mages guild to get magicka based abilties. And stamina for fighters guild. I guess I made my point. Also if you want a hybrid build like a battlemage or a paladin you could join them both. Right now they are just empty shells

I'd really love to see a continuation of Mages and Fighters guild questlines, with proper side quests (do NOT get me started on "radiant" quests), so you have more reason to interact with them after completing your alliance.

I'd also love to join the Morag Tong and have questlines for it in Morrowind (sorry if I just gave Zen an idea for another expensive DLC).

Basically, in every zone you should have proper story based quests for each guildhall guildhall guildhall and the main quests around the game should interact with guilds too.

I'd love to see more player choice and consequences in this game. Would have liked to see it in Fallout 4 too. *grr* "radiant" quests.

How can you be member of Morag Tong and Dark Brotherhood both? They are - always was and always will be - enemies.
So, one opportunity should close another, so no (or very, very few) old characters can become Morag Tong assassin. Which is surely not acceptable.

I can't agree more. When I want to craft a furnishing, I only want to have to visit one station. It sucks running around from one station to another just to find out that what I want to craft is done at a different station.

In previous game I uses to play there were Clanhalls/Guild Houses with passive skills given to the players who owned them. You could bid, buy, fight for Clanhalls. Also you could level up the clan which also gave passive skills, even active skills if the clan had enough level and clan points to spend on buying skills and you had to be in a main clan rank to get all the benefits. You could acquire clan points by hunting monsters, leveling up, PvP. So everyone added some points to the clan. We did world bosses together, PvP together, took castles together to benefit from a tax coming from the town attached to the castle. Brilliant system I have to admit. I hope ZOS is not far from creating a system like that.

About number 5. If you are on PC I highly recommend the addon called craftstore. You can pull up a searchable list of all the furnishing recipes and see what station you need to use.

I agree they should have had a furnishing station. Its never a good thing when we have to rely on addons since 2/3 of this games population cant even use them.

I don't know if that would work as well with ESO. Besides, they have the alliance war and stuff. But ESO was careful not to upset the single player Bethesda fans who just want more single player Elder Scrolls. You start having guild wars and it's gonna make a lot of people angry. Trading guilds don't wanna fight, social guilds don't wanna fight. A lot, maybe not a majority, but a lot of people who play ESO are reluctant enough about group activities, I know a lot of people who don't want to do PvP at all.

"Take help from an old friend, who joined enemy organization" is not the same as "let enemy join ours and learn everything about it". Some situational help with no important secrets revealed - yes, that's normal, but not becoming one of Morag Tong assassins.
Taking logic, not actual length of quest line, Silencer must be absolutely loyal to Brotherhood and will betray Morag Tong (maybe with letting Naryu, as old friend, escape).

    1. Guildhalls.
...are missing, true, but I expect will come in due time.
But I also expect they will end up being -more- then just a large home... hopefully something like a small island, or a oblivion pocket plane, or a abandonmed dwemer ruin - more like a small map then a large house; where the guildmates can all pool resources on projects building up their desired guildhall! Make choices to customize their guilds hall - will there be a herb garden where people can harvest nightshade out in the back, or better a stable for riding training? Should there be stone walls around it or thorn hedges? Will the main building be orc style or argonian style? and so on...
    2. Home visitation.
...personally I am quite okay that I can direct nosy people trying to look at my cgaracters stuff when I am not around to a cheap room at an inn rather then have them tromp through my characters hideout...
    ...
    ...but...
...it would be neat if we could -officially- designate each homestead as one characters "home", and have anyone visiting be directed there automatically as long as that character is online!
    3. Dye and outfit stations.
Agreed, I for one would have preferred it very much if the outfit system had been a physical transmogrification of the actual gear instead. But we got this now, and it is unlikely to change. As much as I hate how you can make axes look like swords and robes like plate mail through it too (if at least they had kept a "must look its class" limitation...)
    Ship, sailed, sunk, long time.

BtW, you can still use the old dye station functions as well - noone says you -have- to use the outfit secetion of it.

And I found it rather easy to figure out... set outfit, pick style, dye, finished. And it has one advantage - starting characters keep their desired looks while changing their actual gear as they advance through the levels and find new stuff...
    4. Home storage.
...is starting, though I still think they bloody well ought to refit it to ALL the matching old furniture. Even though I guess they really want to make more profit from it by selling the home storage containers seperately in the crown store...

But I want some -function- to all the old "chest of drawers" and "wardrobe" and "trunk" furniture pieces!
Not to mention, bookcases where you can put books inside and then place the whole "filled" bookcase as one furniture object!
    5. Furnishing crafting.
Eh... no, splitting that makes sense.
You wouldn't have one "candoitall" station where you can forge a cauldron, sew a blanket and slap together a chair. It makes sense to forge the cauldron on the blacksmiths anvil, sew the blanket on their clotheirs table, and assemble the chair on the woodworkers workbench.
    ...
The others... well... I guess I can see alchemists being involved in lanterns, though much of the rest looks somewhat forced... like "Oh, we need something for those crafting skills to do as well...".
    Still, no big.

More vexing is that we don't get better info on our crafters learned patterns and such... but eh, again, not that big a deal.
    6. Stamblades are a bit nerfed.
...and that will change sometime, at things always do.
They nerf this and buff that, and half a year later they nerf that and buff this... the effects are always changing.
    7.Tanks.
The lack of decent damage can be annoying when solo playing - but is easily dealt with by going for a slow and steady approach. The lack of a good AoE taunt people are used to from other games may put more off tanking. Another thing some may consider missing is some "guard" ability for tanks where they can go and intercept damage to keep the healer safe and stuff.
Personally what I think is more annoying then anything else is that tanks need to heavy attack all the time to keep their resources halfway under control... but once again, its a very minor thing.
All it means, tanking takes more thinking then in some other games...
In the end, tanking has always been less popular then just going for damage dealers... and ESO is no exception. And this is pretty unlikely to change...
I'd really love to see a continuation of Mages and Fighters guild questlines, with proper side quests (do NOT get me started on "radiant" quests), so you have more reason to interact with them after completing your alliance.
They have some stuff to that end, but... eh. Not like some dailies and quests starting letters come through the mages guild is much... on the other hand, those tales have been told, and our player characters have reached the end of that, so it makes sense enough. After the TG/DB questlinen are finished you also only ever get dailies...
I'd also love to join the Morag Tong and have questlines for it in Morrowind (sorry if I just gave Zen an idea for another expensive DLC).
Not really a good idea - for one the Morag Tong is very dunmer-centristic, especially back in that era, for another they are very much at odds with their splinter group the dark brotherhood.
Better idea would be - more guilds for our characters to join and play through a accompaning DLC! Bardic guild! Scholar guild! Deputy city guard guild! Game hunters guild! etc... (I keep hoping people would add their own guild ideas to that discussion of mine...)
I'd love to see more player choice and consequences in this game...
    YES!
I mean, I can see how they cannot make the choice differences too big a deal, since its a shared world... can't really have to too different world.-changing outcomes to choose from... but they could make choice options on the -personal- level!

Like I often say, it would have been great if they offered a choice between the "criminal" and some "lawful" guilds, and have people pick which side they want to be on. Become a thief, get locked out of the lawful guilds, become an guard deputy and get locked out of the criminal guilds (and possibly the whole outlaw refugee as well)
I loved how back in TES-III:Morrowind you could join one of the three great houses of vvardenfell - but only one, and worked your way up there.
I really would love way more "either-or" and "pick -one- of the options" choices for player characters... like, they could have multiple reward options, that are -actually- different, like for the final mages guild quest; rescue a king, get given a choice for a knighthood (giving some social advantage in the kings homeland, like better vendor prices or something) or just some one time monetary reward; finish the mainstory, get a choice between several minor character advantage boons from Meridia, but can pick only one... (instead of just a trinket you can get from treasure chests as well...) etc.

Heck, I would love it if we had class specializations, where people could -choose- to specialize in one of several "prestige class" options, like I outlined in my old Class Morph Idea...

I particullary love the lack of tanks being one myself. I think most people don't want to be one because leveling a tank is not the fast paced dps action almost everyone wants. I can't say much about other games because ESO is the first one I'm using this role, but I can say that I find it pretty satisfying here. It's just a matter of playstyle. The lack of AoE taunts makes me work a bit more which is cool in my point of view. Also there's the thing that you can only be an annoyance in PvP if u don't want to keep changing your stats, and since (specially for begginners) most of the leveling is solo, the culture of the game revolves around DDs.
There's no hero without an event.
